Put up, or shut up... 09:19 - Sep 2 with 5656 views | jackrmee | I reckon it's time to stop going on about the board and start breeding positive thoughts and emotions round the place... OK, so the board have fckd us and the club over, but there's nothing more they can do now until January, so can't we just forget about it until then, and start supporting the team and backing the players we have now? I don't see how moaning can help at all. And I don't see how anything more than moaning can help either now the window is shut. Unless there is some sort of plan to boycott or how to hurt the board AND a plan to actually follow through with it, then what is the point in talking about it, as that just breeds negativity and that will spread through the club. I hope the players don't look at these forums, because if I was a player reading these, I'd be mostly disappointed and it would be hard for it to not impact on my fight for the club and for us, the people who seem so negative. Unless someone has a good idea in order to really make the board wake up to their actions, and have an idea how to get all the fans involved, surely it's time to shut up and enjoy the season? At least until they start fiddling and lying again in January.

I must have missed it. Feel free to answer it again. I am yet to read a realistic one. Oh actually, didn’t you want someone from WH Smith or something? If that was you it did raise a smile yes.

As I am decent chap, I'll answer it again for you. Do you think that the Americans are not capable of employing some recruitment firm to headhunt an individual who would fit the bill? Given that the club are a worldwide brand, would be offering a substantial package I am sure there'd be a decent list of candidates. Or, do you think they are not capable of doing this?

That isn’t answering it, that is asking me a question. My view has been stated several times. I believe they will give the gig to Pearlman with an advisor such as Landon Donovan. I don’t think there are many people out there with a better football chairman track record than Jenkins that is in our price range and realistic reach. Can you think of any?

I am a fan of the club, not a businessman. I would hope the current majority owners would have it within their skill-set to be able to recruit a company with the remit of finding someone. We are talking worldwide here, not just South Wales, or the UK. I would have thought, given your jet-setting career, you would have been able to have suggested something similar.

Well I am guessing that a school teacher that doesn’t know what a verb is has no idea what the scope looks like “world wide” either. We are a championship club. We are not looking worldwide for a chairman with British footballing experience, we are looking at the UK funnily enough. When we then look at candidates we look at track records. So I ask again, who is a realistic alternative that has a better track record of leading a football club? So far you have come up empty.

Put up, or shut up... on 17:37 - Sep 2 by E20Jack | I don’t think it matters what a firm of 20 years ago thinks of him does it? Unless they dont think he is the most successful chairman in the history of Swansea City then they would be wrong and need to give their heads a wobble. He has been at the helm for nearly 2 decades now, you seem to be suggesting he has rode his luck almost? I absolutely agree however that there is a need for balance, however that balance only seems to be coming from one side. I am more than happy to say where I feel mistakes have been made, but acknowledge mistakes do get made also. So - we come down to the crunch again:- Take a look at the Americans other sporting clubs. Who do you think they will employ to replace Jenkins if it came to it? Do you think the next person to be brought in as chairman will make any mistakes? Do you think he/she will have a better track record of success? Answer those three questions honestly. [Post edited 2 Sep 2018 17:56]

Not sure what your reference to 20 years ago is, but I will agree that he is the most successful Chairman in the history of the club. Since his appointment in January 2002, up until about 2014 he did a very good job, but I think started to go downhill to where we are now. In terms of your 3 questions , Who do you think they will employ to replace Huw Jenkins? if it came to it, there are plenty of people out there who could do the job. Pearlman as the CEO with a Drector of Football to manage the playing side of the house, a top class recruiting agency could head hunt someone for the role. Football is a worldwide wide sport and there are people out there who could do the job. Do you think the next person will make mistakes? Yes of course, nobody is perfect, but some of the club’s recent transfer business has been very poor and considerable amounts of money appear to have been “wasted”. Better record, that would of course depend on what level of backing they received, but I see no reason why that could not be the case. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Put up, or shut up... on 14:32 - Sep 2 by RevJames | What's the alternative? Just roll over and watch what was once a club more than holding its own in the Premier League being eroded into a mess both on and off the field? It's good for fans to air their views. We do it because we care. It's obvious that not everyone will agree but healthy debate should be encouraged, not seen as moaning. Do you really think the Board would take note of any views or ideas put forward on this site? |
So everyone is just going to keep on about not getting any signings in before the transfer window for months? That is the past, which cannot be changed now. There's plenty of stuff we can be pissed off about from the past. Moaning about them now and keeping them in the present is going to bring everyone down. Why can't we just look at what we have, be grateful for it and be excited with what we can do with it? Look where we are compared to 15 years ago...people from all over the world know who we are, we have a decent stadium, a fantastic academy and training facilities, some good youngsters coming through with the perfect manager to nurture them. From now until Christmas could be an exciting and special time for the club, and for us as fans...if we let it No amount of moaning/debating is going to get us any players now until next year. Just roll with it, enjoy the season, and start protesting again nearer to January. Maybe we can get some proper, meaningful protests going which will really give the yank counts something to think about. I'm well up for that. All this keyboard warrior stuff is pointless and not helping anyone. We need these boys to know we are behind them and that we trust them to get us through these difficult times. Who knows? Maybe come January, we will be flying high and we will have some superstars on our hands OK, the board will probably sell them all, but again, lets cross that bridge when we come to it and organise some proper sh!t for the new year

Na, I wasn't there mate, but I am not tlking about the fans letting them know at games, as long as we are still backing the boys. That's all good. The main thing I'm on about is all the negativity/moaning on here and generally moping about the place. All pointless. Not gonna get anyone anywhere.
