I know they are both in jobs but I would prefer Gaz or Jackett

Mclaren with Clint Hill as his number 2 I think would be pretty decent for this squad

I thought Mclaren has got the job with Lee Carsley?

That would be palatable.

There are 3 doing brilliant things on no money in the divisions below us - Ainsworth, Cowley, Hurst. But McClaren’s been on the telly.

I'd add Paul Tisdale to that list but again no telly...

WLS very confident it’s McClaren, but Moyes has been mooted if Wet Spam don’t renew his contract.

I quite like Ainsworth, Nigel Clough or Derek Mcinness but it will be Mcclaren on the touchline adjusting his trousers come August

To add some balance Clive, he coached us very successfully for a short time previously, when we played s9me really good football and made a good impression with the club before he left us. His record is mixed, and he has tried to take on tasks that few would have achieved success at, but equally failed where he should have probably done better. Overall you can see him being to some extent a known entity to the owners and that will be attractive to them.

Never knowingly understood

Good point about adding some balance. Although we were a very different team back then. Moneybags QPR. Different type of player and did he ever actually take charge of a match? I can't remember.

It's a myth that we played really good football when he was coach here before. We were well organised and hard to beat but the football was pretty dull bar the first half of one home game against Middlesbrough.

He sat in the press box at all home games, not once venturing to the touchline

Derek McInnes - taken Aberdeen to from struggling in Scottish prem to consistently no 2 in Scotland. Small to non existent budget that means he has to sell best players to Celtic each season. Good backroom staff that have developed a lot of good young scottish players. Experience in the championship, 1 good season, 1 not so good. Not a big name. Achieved all he can with Aberdeen.

Really, is this the tack you're taking now.

I was wondering on the other thread who exactly McLaren would have left a good impression on last time that's here now. You seem to be implying here all of a sudden that this is a TF job and Les, Ramsey, Hoos etc aren't having a say in this decision- unless they're a bunch of needy starf*ckers now too.

I can understand why he wouldn’t have been interested last time but this season has shown that he can’t really take Aberdeen further. Rangers will only get stronger. Money talks and he’ll have to continue selling players to both the 2 big clubs. No chance of winning league....maybe the odd cup as he has already done.

In addition to how unappealing we may be, I'd imagine McInnes is also keeping a very close eye on the West Brom job.
