Mackie, Perch, JET... on 09:43 - Apr 6 with 7147 views | Myke | No major surprises there, although as you say it will be sad to see Mackie depart. Difficult to know if he would have been offered a new contract even without the long term injury, but I doubt it with the emergence of so much young talent up front. Sadly, he never really hit the heights of our promotion -winning season again, but a great servant to the club who will be fondly remembered. To be honest, I'm more concerned about what happens at the back, I think we should really try to hold onto Ned and Robinson, even on one year contracts. That would afford us some continuity and allow time to develop or sign at least one more defender, especially with the on-going uncertainty over Hall's fitness
Mackie, Perch, JET... on 09:45 - Apr 6 with 7132 views | Metallica_Hoop | Good luck to them. Mackie will still do a job for someone as will Perch.

Money talks and they want higher wages than what we can offer.
Mackie, Perch, JET... on 10:01 - Apr 6 with 7003 views | simmo | Didn't really consider Chief wanting to return up north, it makes sense but would be a massive blow. Losing both our best central defenders with one of them being our long term captain is a big problem. The wages saved on both is nowehere near compensation... As for the others, I hope JET is literally thrown out the door, prick. Mackie & Perch go with my blessings but I'm sure we could get better options, although the latters versatility has got us out of injuries and suspensions in the past so will need to be replaced.

Mackie, Perch, JET... on 10:02 - Apr 6 with 6990 views | PlanetHonneywood | I see reference to Palace and Brighton watching Eze as well. Alas, it's going to be a lot like this for sometime to come. Still, a season where we won't have blokes like Caulker and JET on the payroll, is something to look forward to!

to be fair, its not a very select group Mackie was a feel-good signing, but not the type of player we should have signed... 30 year old strikers with bad injury records whose game is predicated around running and energy don't make good signings.... 40 appearances in 3 years... 15/16 was a wash, 17/18 was a wash. But we should never forget the critical performances he had after our 6 match losing run in December 2016 against Wolves, Ipswich, Reading, etc. We might not be in this division if it wasn't for her senior leadership and performances in that little stretch. I think Mackie can be serviceable in L1 or Scotland Perch was a pretty good ranger, notwithstanding his manic first 3-4 months at the club where he was constantly a risk of murdering the opposition... but to be fair, theres no reason that a low level championship budget needs as many defenders as we had at the start of the season (Ned, Robinson, Lynch, Baptiste, Caulker, Grant Hall, Furlong, Bidwell, Perch and all the U23s) Perch will probably manage to land with another championship team- not many guys out there who can play all positions in the back and in midfield

He has a year left on his contract, and I cant imagine many teams are looking to buy a 30+ centreback who hasn't played in months He's a serviceable backup for us.... fine as a squad player next year. there's zero chance he wont be a ranger next year

Oh thought he had only signed on for one year - yep guess he'll be here next year so. As you say, a handy enough back up, especially if Ned and Robbo leave

Mackie, Perch, JET... on 10:40 - Apr 6 with 6739 views | Hunterhoop | If we've lose Robinson AND Onouha this summer, we'll do well to survive next season, let alone push on. I'm hoping the "move back up north" line is a negotiating position to attract the likes of Preston, Blackburn, Wigan, even Sheff Utd, Wed, Stoke, etc, to give him some leverage in the negotiations, and that really he's quite happy to stay. Robbo looks gone if they think they can get him in the Prem. Even if they can't a top Championship side could take him.
Mackie, Perch, JET... on 10:44 - Apr 6 with 6727 views | LunarJetman | Goodbye and thank you Jamie Mackie for always giving 100%, for being part of that Neil Warnock promotional season that will live long in my memory and then the team that stayed up for a season, scoring against Liverpool to win that game at home as part of the run that kept us up. Good luck in finding a new club. Goodbye James Perch and thank you for being a consistent, wholehearted performer when needed. Can't fault him for effort. You probably need to be playing regularly at your age so good luck in finding a new club. Bugger off JET... a few goals early on showed promise but you don't appear to be bothered and seem just around to pick up your wages so no real loss...

Robinson has done well this season so fair play to him but lets not go overboard on him , franco Baresi he isn't and no way will he get a premier league team next year , we have had to do without Ned for long periods as well and the team did ok , at the end of the day they are average defenders playing in an average midt able team , its a bit OTT to say we will or wont survive without them if they go they go I trust Penrice , Ollie, les and co to have suitable replacements lined up who knows they may be even better than what we have already

Indeed - negotiations are still ongoing after all. Very happy to see the back of Perch who maybe had ten decent games for us, otherwise tended to be a radge packet liability.

We hugely struggled without Ned this season when he was injured. Results before and since his lay-off are much better i believe. Would be a huge loss and v difficult yo replace. Agree on Robbo.

Not to mention, Robbo's injury record is terrible. He's been healthy this year, but he tore his ACL in 14-15 and then only played 8 league games in 16-17 and 17-18 combined. Perhaps a team like Villa can take the risk of signing him to a 3 year deal and paying him 25k a week to sit in the physio's office. But on our budget, if we sign him long term and he gets hurt, it sets us back massively financially.

Literally, factually...the team did NOT do okay without Ned. 13 games, 11 points, I believe. That's our form without him this season. That's relegation. With him, we have a win % of 40% this season. That's edge of play offs. I agree Robbo is not Baresi (who said he was?!), and I said I doubt he'll find a Prem team. But I still think a better team will offer him more and he'll go. You've been in a tight obtuse mood this last week, PP. But I am glad you now trust Ollie, Penrice and Les.
