I think Babs is a useful tool for them to link various pieces of the show together. Obviously they've changed her a bit to reflect the change in society over the last 18 years but they are probably doing the best they can to keep the original character rather than just replace her with a new taxi driver to perform the same linking function. These days it should be uber really but that's a whole other issue. | | | |

Pam Doove doing the shipping forecast made me laugh VERY loudly. It's also interesting that a lot of the characters they played were older so aesthetically they haven't changed much.
