agree, but anyone who thinks this kind of sh!t only goes on in Hollywood or politics has their head in the sand. It happens in all businesses, everywhere, wherever someone has a semblance of power. Youth clubs, kids clubs, work places. If we've learnt anything over the last few years with Yew Tree and then this, it's that this kind of stuff is far, far more prevalent than most decent people ever thought.

Yeah, but what other industry stands up a claps child molesters, rapists and predators? Maybe this witch hunt will delay Meryl Streep getting an award for her glowing endorsement of Roman Polanski?

Hollywood on 14:50 - Nov 1 with 6384 views | bosh67 | I don't condone any of it but there seems to be a lot of people everywhere suddenly remembering that someone said something or brushed by them and lumping that in the same boat as people who were actually sexually abused. Sexual abuse and harassment is wrong, but some of these claims are badly judged or unsuitable but hardly in the same area as actual physical or mental abuse. When I was at college in the 1980s a male tutor had some kind of crush on me and sent me a valentines card. My girlfriend at the time thought it was hilarious. Should I make some kind of claim for PPI against him and say my ex-girlfriend touched my knee once?

Hollywood on 14:57 - Nov 1 with 6361 views | FDC | Similarly the unredacted spreadsheet of accusations against MPs is doing the rounds and there are charges on there that on the face of it are consensual relations between adults lumped in with much more clearly abusive acts. It's difficult though because sexual abuse doesn't have to mean out-right rape, it can also be taking advantage of the power afforded to you by your status as an influential film producer, MP, or teacher: even sex that is consensual can, within the context of that kind of relationship, be abusive.

I hear you Antii. I was born in '74 and so statistically it's pretty amazing that I got out of childhood without getting bummed in the gob by a celeb, teacher or the people who ran the Woodcraft group that I was a part of as a young 'un.

I'm sure you're right that a clumsy pass doesn't constitute sexual harrassment, still less abuse. But in most of these cases what may seem a borderline incident will be part of a pattern of behaviour that does include more serious incidents, especially when it involves an older person in a position of authority and a younger impressionable and/or vulnerable person. Probably all of us have come across or known of at least one sex pest in our workplaces at some point. Finally their victims have not only found a voice but a genuine impetus to out these bullies and make them face the consequences of their actions. I think it's fcking brilliant.

One morning I went to his dressing room to take his breakfast order; he looked at me and grinned, taking his time. Then he said, ‘I’ll have a hard-boiled egg … and a soft-boiled clitoris.’ OOOh Dustin you silver-tongued cavalier !

Agree, Antti. I found out something about about someone very senior at my work...and it's awful. Absolute abuse of power when it comes to a relationship with someone junior. Not illegal, but certainly an abuse of power if it's true....but heard it from several sources. A lot more people at the top table are at it, sadly.

The two words are "Adam Werrity", the reason he got sacked from Defense Secretary. Apart from Wrigg liking to have men piss on him and Kwasi Kwarteng being a parliamentary player, my favorite is Alun Cairns liking to get with men who are wearing women's perfume. Tories, so weird.

Ah, of course, cheers for that. Even odder that it's retracted whilst remaining common knowledge and in the public D. What strange puritanical times we live in, that someone ends up on that list for having a workplace relationship. Back in the day shagging female colleagues was diregeur. When Paddy AshdoWn was caught at it and called Paddy PPantsdown 25 years ago no one batted an eye lid and just said everyones at it. Now it's not far off a hanging offence. Jesus wept. Not condoning the odious Weinstein, clearly an exploiting rapist of the worst kind, and once Tried I hope he gets what he deserves.
