Horrendous scenes in Las Vegas. The videos make me feel sick, the amount of rounds being fired there is going to be a serious amount of casualties I think.
Terrible world we now live in.

Wasn't trying to bite your head off, I just thought it was a given that automatic weapons are illegal everywhere in the USA. I know Nevada is one of the most relaxed states, but I can't imagine that was a legally owned weapon.
In any case, I'd be all for serious improvements to our gun laws, like I've said before. Will never happen though.
I think Tummer is right for all practical purposes. In essence the federal law states that automatic weapons manufactured after early 1986 can't be purchased or owned by private citizens. The earlier 'transferable' weapons can be owned in some states subject to stringent conditions, including Nevada. They go for about $20,000 so are mainly purchased by collectors rather than criminals.
My guess is that this probably involved a couple of semi-automatic rifles illegally converted to fully automatic. We'll see, but my bet would be AR-15s with large magazines.
I am in favour of tighter gun controls, but this looks like illegal weapons that could get the man possessing them 10 years in jail, even before he uses them.
P.S. The amendment mentioned by an earlier poster relates to (semi-automatic) 'assault rifles', which are a different category from fully-automatic rifles See below
Just another take on this, but why do a lot of these fvckers kill themselves when they've carried out such acts? Surely if you're sick enough to carry out these atrocities, you'd want to stick around to find out the aftermath of your actions. Kill rate etc?

I've got to be honest if there's anyone out there that thinks something, anything shouldn't be done to the gun laws in the States they've got a screw loose.
