Such a shame our club has not paid tribute to Terry Coles by unveiling a Plaque outside the stadium. We cannot forget that terrible event in Rotherham, May 2000. The accident was caused by S.Y.P when Terry was trampled by a horse. A terrible tragedy.

20 years ago today. RIP Terry

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

That's exactly the way that I saw it too on that fateful and terrible day - it was not an accident. It could have happened to any of us there that day - blatant SYP thuggery well honed at Hillsborough and during the miners' strike.

Natalie,

I hope that you are keeping as well as can be expected.

I walked down that lane minutes before your Dad.

But for the grace of God...

I've always said, that taking a horse down that lane was poor policing at best.

If you need further evidence, please contact me. Phil Sumbler has my number.

Respect.

With respect mate, I wouldn't be waiting to be asked... I'd be presenting it, as it was, in respect of Terry Coles.

I seem to remember a while back that Terry's daughter Natalie posted on here that the family had been let down by the club with regards to a memorial for Terry. I asked whether the trust could get involved, and received a reply on here that Stuart Macdonald would meet the family to find out what sort of memorial they would prefer. Since then, nothing. No mention of it on any trust updates, and no mention of it by any trust board members on here.

Don't know where you were that day, Darr, but I remember huge Swans support there, massively well behaved. Your post is poor, and ill-informed.

Seriously... were you there?

Shameful.

I'd like an answer from someone connected to the Trust about this.

You might think I've forgotten, but one day, when you least expect it, my time will come.

So what did you expect my response to be then?

Honestly you have lost me mate.

Yes worse things going on.

All I can suggest (perhaps in the morning) is to read my original post again?

Perhaps you will find we were singing from the same hymn sheet my friend 👍

The memorial area by the Ivor statue is completed. It was completed just before the lockdown position so there has been no official unveiling for obvious reasons. There are places to lay and rest flowers and benches for people to sit and remember.

I havent seen it to be able to say exactly what it looks like but its been completed. (Neathie lives quite close to the stadium so he may have seen it) The club have publicised it ( https://www.swanseacity.com/news/swansea-city-remember-terry-coles) and it has also been mentioned in Trust board meetings so will be in our minutes on the website.

As far as I know Stuart was keeping the family (I think through Natalie) updated as were the stadium (through Matthew Daniel) and I know I picked up with Natalie earlier this year to make sure it was all in hand as the original date of end December had been missed.

On a side note, I sincerely hope that lots of people stand for the Trust board election this summer given there will be at least two spare spaces to be filled. Watch out for news soon on the election process

I’d forgotten about it tbh, Gar. I raised it at the meeting after it had been brought up on here and Stu was picking it up. I can see Phil’s posted more detail below.

I was there and there was definitely a group of Swans fans causing trouble. We left one pub because of them, found somewhere quieter.
Most were quite well behaved, if a little rowdy because of the excitement and a fair bit of beer.

I'll also agree there was no way a police horse should have gone down that lane, not even near the entrance, it was asking for trouble.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?
