How do YOU know anybody is looking into it, as you said? There is nothing on the Offish, and the West London Sport article only mentioned the coin-throwing and the on-pitch punch-up. http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/police-and-qpr-investigate-violent-incident-d It may well be an exaggerated account, but it ought to be investigated.

The School End. on 17:36 - Mar 1 by simmo | Seems a pretty ignorant thing to say. Once or twice a month I am usually part of a 'group of away fans' and I usually arrive at the opposition ground via a pub. Should anything that happens to me be put down to being another pissed up football fan? |
This was the point I was making early Simmo. It does not really matter what the trigger was, be it pissed up brummies, there being serious delays on the M40, M4, Shepherds Bush Rounabout or Aliens from Mars landing in Batman Close dressed as Millwall fans, if there was an incident and by the sounds of it someone on here was nearly run over by a Police horse entering the fray, it needs to be investigated and probably there will be consultation between the Club and the Met where I presume they will review video evidence of what was happening at the time - I would be staggered if the Met were not filming it because every time I walk past the Bok there is old bill with their cine cameras filming someone walking down SAR. I dont expect to see anything about it on the Offy because QPR will want it kept as quiet as possible because all it will bring is bad press once the Standard get hold of it or the Fail. It's probably stand procedure any way 1. What happened 2. When did it happen 3. How did it happen 4. Why did it happen 5. Could it have been prevented 6. Should it have been prevented 7. How was it dealt with 8. Was it dealt with effectively 9. What could have been done differently 10. Move on. Straight out of our Project Management Lessons Learnt Log.

The School End. on 15:21 - Mar 1 by Boston | I think it's time we called for an investigation of the investigations. |
And while we are at it, I think we need to demand an investigation into why Birminghsm City FC sold so many tickets to their 'boys' when it was common knowledge in Brum that they were planning trouble. West Midlandd Police knew, that is why there were so many OB there. Or perhaps the moaning Brummies ought to blame who was actually responsible, their own pi$$ed up fans who were out for trouble and caused the problems at the turnstiles, as well as before, during and after the game.

Well, do please excuse my ignorance..! The fact I used the language I did to describe the persons on the MB was clearly (I thought) tongue in cheek. I do apologise whole heatedly for offending you. That said, if you don't understand the point of the post then let me try this: has there been any impartial reporting of this? Have the Met or visiting Police from the midlands (I assume there were some?) made any comment on this? Have QPR? Have the media (excluding their Offish and that MB etc)? Clearly, if we are sleepwalking into a situation where people can be hurt just trying to go to a game of football due to the inability to deal with crowds then yes, we have a problem and that needs to be put right immediately before such a risk arises again. But there does seem to be an awful lot of handwringing when all we've heard so far is from away fans, who aren't known for being overly fair and even minded when it comes to such matters (not all are as saintly as you, Simmo). They are hardly complimentary about ANY aspect of their visit, except those among their own who seem to downplay things. What we DO know is that their fans are under investigation for coin throwing at players and, if what has been written on here is correct, then for throwing coins at the disabled fans in the Paddocks(?). Now they will, unfairly, all be tarred with the same brush and that brush says they behaved particularly poorly on that. Therefore I am not taking the comments on the MB as being gospel truth and, perhaps, to have been somewhat exaggerated.

They're either on a banned list or they're not. If you have evidence that Birmingham sold tickets to people under banning orders you should do something about it.

You didn't offend me and I am not saintly. I said it SEEMED to be ignorant, considering that I wasn't sure how it was meant. I am just particularly pissed off with fans being treated or looked upon like 2nd class citizens just because they follow their team. Police, stewards, media all seem to think we're the same and it's indicative of the fans once again being the last consideration. This particular incident may well have been down to the cnts from Birmingham here to cause trouble, but it annoys me that whenever there is any type of incident the default blame always falls on the fans. As Clive said previously, if I had spent money on trains, tickets (£32!), and all the other sundries involved in going away, I would have been fckin livid to be kept outside and miss a 3rd of the match. I reguarly turn up 15mins before kick off after a few drinks, I would not have reacted by shoving and breaking through a barrier (if that's what happened), but I would have inevitably been a part of that group and wondering why the club have decided to lock me out and provoke such a poor reaction.
