" We didn't deserve to lose" & "I think we played well"

Two quotes from JFH, that I find mystifying. good job he's not made of wood & named Pinocchio

Dear Jimmy,
please can you fix it for me to watch a team that doesn't bore me to tears and send me to sleep.

No Jimmy we didn't play well,we were clueless for long periods of that game.
I don't blame him for the players lack of ability however he needs to play to their strengths and get us more organized like we were under NW.
If he had remained in charge,i'm in no doubt we'd be top half of the table, its amazing how many points you can pick up when you don't concede.

I actually agree with JFH, particularly in the first half.

I hope the situation re the squad goes something like this

TF tells John that we have some big name players and that the play offs are well within out capabilities .

Jimmy obliges TF by picking fer, Sandro, Phillips, green plus a few others to give TFs ego a quick rub, but as we all gathered earlier this season these players are not good enough.

Come January jfh tells TF, I tried it your way and look where we are.

We need to offload these guys and play the like of Luongo, Harriman, furlong, gladwin etc..

I heard a rumour that chaz has had a falling out with jfh after the Brighton game, thought it was the usual drivel but now not so sure.

Thoroughly depressing as yet another relegation dog fight beckons

captains fantastic

called him hasselwrong from the start and that he would be gone by easter

not proud of that just what I felt would happen and am seeing nothing to change my mind

hard to blame him too much but said from beginning we needed a proven championship manager

if Austin goes in jan we could well go down as without his goals we would be bottom 3

For JFH to say this is disgraceful. "I think we played well" and "didn't deserve to lose" just kidding himself because sure no QPR fan is going to believe this. The post match press conferences mean a lot to me and it would be so much more refreshing to hear him give an honest appraisal of our performance and some reasons as to why we were so poor and what he will do to improve it.

Brentford and Fulham have made interesting managerial appointments recently, I will be keen to see how our West London neighbours do in this division between now and May.

As regards us : as I've said on another thread, we are seven wins off nominal safety and our most urgent priority should be to get them as soon as possible. Nothing pretty, stick one in or head one in and it's Row Z clearances plus backs to the wall after that. Now it's all about results.

Assuming we can do that - and sometimes losing runs ARE followed by winning ones - it's time to look to the future. The day after we play Bristol City in May, JFH and LF should be at their desks planning exit replacements (a lot of contracts are up in the summer, not just Charlie) and they should be of proper Championship standard - look at the Ipswich or Wolves squad for the kind of player I'm talking about - AND ensuring that 2016/17 pre-season contains no fiasco elements, fitness & conditioning are top-notch and care is taken to promote the building of team spirit. In short, learn the positive lessons of season 2010/11.

Then - we should be able to enjoy next season one hell of a lot more than this. And maybe learn to love JFH along the way. Just maybe, mind...

diakite free
phillips offers of £5+ million HE CAN cross
hoilett £2 mill
Austin £8 mill minimum other wise id keep him as only his goals are keeping us up

We've needed a fcking clear out every season for as long as I can remember.

Why do we persist with this irrational belief that all we have to do is get rid of these overpaid underperforming tossers when what happens without fail is we replace like for like?

Agree with some of this but 4mill got Sandro!? On his salary we will be lucky to shift him on a free, he has been dreadful.

As with many other teams this season Hull were stronger, fitter and faster than us and had some real leaders in their side. In comparison we look very ponderous and directionless. And once again when Leroy Fer comes on the pitch we are effectively a 10 man team. He is an absolute disgrace to the footballing profession, lazy, incompetent and disinterested. Just happy to pick up his salary. I would much rather have Jose Boswinga in the side than that bar steward.

As important to the club your delicate sensibilities are it might be more that JFH is trying to stay positive and on-message in public so he doesn't undermine himself pointing the finger six weeks into a new job...

Not saying the players need coddling at all times but how often did you ever hear Fergie saying United were crap on the day? Redknapp on the other hand...

Agree to a point but at this stage the fans want at least some honesty from the Manager and a belief that he is aiming for something better, he's not doing himself any favours by saying we were good.

I agree with him for the most part. naturally, he's glossing over the negatives.

I was very encouraged by the first half.

Firstly, JFH made a few of the changes that a lot of people were asking for. He played with a striker, two wide men, Chery was brought in, Faurlin was back in his natural centre-mid rather than anchor role. Right-back was clearly an area still to be fixed but - as Clive says - many managers have had a look at our right-back options and decided that we don't have any bar Perch.

I thought that it was obvious that the players had belief from the off and a good work rate and pressing game in the first twenty five minutes in particular. Countless times we turned the ball over through organised and intense pressing. The centre halfs were excellent and Henry held the anchor well, Faurlin pushed forward more to good effect, our wingers were wider than on Monday and we missed two great chances from a striker who was - in every sense - finding his feet (Austin would have worked the keeper with both. Full backs were a problem, though - Onouha is out of position and gives little in defense or attack, Konchesky is solid but very defensive.

At half-time I was quietly encouraged.

Hull were always going to change their tempo and effort after the break, and they did. However, when the goal came it was still somewhat undeserved for the visitors. Our reaction took a while to get going but Polter and Cherry were threatening, the former growing into the game with every touch, the latter showing superb touch and showing great promise before tiring. I agreed with him being subbed as he looked spent.

I thought that Fer upset our rhythm when he came on, or - to be more precise - carrying a non-working player cost us.

Our goal, when it came, was superb. It was a 1992 goal, I could nearly see Les and Sinton as Polter layed off to Philips and somehow (for a player who according to some is slow) getting himself into the box for a great headed finish from a superb cross. I used to watch Ferdinand train on that move with Roger Cross and I would be amazed of he hadn't a part in yesterday's goal.

Their winner was a sickener and I would put it down to us having to play a centre-back at right back and having a keeper in who was devoid of confidence.

Generally, I thought that a draw would have been about right, and that if any team deserved to win it was us. I thought we were good positionally, well set-up and solid without being at all spectacular, excellent on defending set-pieces, with obvious work done on zonal set-up and wise positioning of key players (Polter must have cleared four?). I also thought that we were superb on attacking set pieces, again showing good positioning, good movement and a wise choice of takers (Faurlin from the right, Chery taking the ones from the left so that we got a fast inswinger, Faurlin being waved off in no uncertain terms by JFH when he tried to take one from the corner of the Loft and Paddock and Philips taking one off of Chery when the latter tired.

There's plenty, I mean plenty, work to do. We badly need two full-backs to help our centre-backs and to provide width and overlaps. Smithies should take over from Green for the cup game and see how we go. I think our pressing needs to be continued with, and that our fitness and sharpness will continue to improve. We're also struggling to put attacking moves together, and my only concern is whether JFH can add that to us. We shall see.

I would have been very encouraged leaving HQ with a draw against a Hull team who were playing well and stacked with good players. One error, as annoying as it might have been, wasn't going to change my mood, and hasn't.

I thought his quotes after Huddersfield that we were "unlucky" were alarming, but I agree with him yesterday. Hull are much higher in the league, with a much better team, but even allowing for having no Austin, and no confidence, we matched them throughout and deserved the draw we would have got but for Charlie Chalk's intervention. I think we played pretty well too - that's how good we are, get used to it.

Hull are better than us but I didn't think they were much better during the game yesterday Diame played well and I thought the two centre halves were superb but they didn't deserve to beat us, even Steve Bruce admitted as much afterwards
