England U21's on 21:26 - Jun 24 with 8193 views | AndyB | . The future is very, very bleak. Trouble is, most of those players will be on 40-50000 pw in the next couple of years - if not already.
England U21's on 21:33 - Jun 24 with 8150 views | Jigsore | Why is Mark Lawrenson complaining about a lot of the players been Championship quality as if its their fault? Its the only place most of them get a chance, the other would be Premier League players are put in the reserves while their parent club throws £12m at Porto to give them another ready-made foreign player

England U21's on 21:59 - Jun 24 with 8012 views | paulparker | A total waste of time This should have been the chance to play Barklay , Shaw, chambers,Sterling, Ox, All of them needed games and will be in the squad for next years Euros so why not play them Get them used to tournament football and maybe a chance to get to a semi final We have learnt nothing seeing the likes of LTC , Chaloba, players who cant even play 5 games a season for there clubs Also yes man Southgate needs sacking , a dinosaur 4-4-2 knocking it to the big man formation doesn't work
| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

England U21's on 22:00 - Jun 24 with 8015 views | QPR1882 | We left most of our best players at home to play in a friendly rather then send them over with the u21's for a major competition.
England U21's on 22:17 - Jun 24 with 7933 views | daveB | England would have been better off playing 4-4-2 and hitting the big man than the crap impression of Spain they served up for three games. Always the same with the under 21's, we never take a full strength team and we always go out straight away as clubs won't let the players play in these games as they have lucrative friendlies they are needed for next month

England U21's on 23:04 - Jun 24 with 7769 views | easthertsr | Of course the best under 21's didn't play in the tournament, but which idiot in the FA appointed Southgate ? Terrible club manager, no track record of any sort. Typical FA yes man. Shocking that he is in charge of a national team!

England U21's on 23:35 - Jun 24 with 7688 views | CroydonCaptJack | They were beaten before they started. I heard Southgate say in the Press Conference something along the lines of we are over the worst case scenario. Pathetic surrender attitude.

England U21's on 00:42 - Jun 25 with 7591 views | Northernr | Couple of random observations: - The U21s are coached by Gareth Southgate. The U20s are coached by Aidy Boothroyd. - The FA spent several weeks through April negotiating with clubs about who could be released and who couldn't be. Harry Kane was the big bone of contention because Spurs wanted him to go on their "post season tour" of Australia. A post season tour? When the fck did that become a thing? Aren't we supposed to be worried about player burn out etc. Post season tour? If you're called up, you fcking go, end of. - Still, for all the TV money, the worst pitches, the worst grass routes facilities, the fewest number of coaches of any of the major European nations. Next time you're on the train anywhere, keep an eye out for the smattering of utterly shambolic football pitches and changing rooms we're asking our children to use. - Chelsea loan 28 players out at any one time, and haven't graduated an academy player to their first team as a regular since John Terry. Still, any half decent 14 year old pops up at Bristol Rovers or wherever they're there like a flash, hoovering him up so nobody else can have him, shoving him on the pile with the rest. Spurs, Man City do the same. All the best talent that is coming through is never playing any kind of football, it's playing tippy tappy stuff against the other academy boys, getting paid obscene amounts to do it. There's a lot of the U21 and U18 football on BT Sport now, watch it. Not a single tackle made. Ever. Goals scored followed by bling bling celebrations in front of their rude boi mates in the side stand, out afterwards in their brand new Mercedes. - The Premier League forced through, by threatening the lower divisions that they'd cut off what meagre rations they throw down there now, EPPP which means these Premier League clubs can now march into any club with a lower academy grade and take who they like. So the hoarding of excellent young boys with no intention of ever using them continues apace.

England U21's on 01:46 - Jun 25 with 7536 views | SonofNorfolt | The FA controlled Premier League is a very successful product. Why would they want to change it? Their old controlling interests, the national team and the FA Cup don't make the necessary amount of folding to make the sweeping changes in order to advance our nation to the heights we aspire to, and frankly, should be closer to. Like the Tories 'austerity' measures, reduce benefits for the less well off, without even trying to tackle the immoral corporate billions that would comfortably satisfy the imaginary debt. I would cite Spain as an example, for years, dreadful underachievers, but although they got their youth policy right, personally, I feel there is more than just a hint of illegality about the way they went about it, and not just football, Spanish sport in general. Contador, Nadal etc The Germans however, with all that contrived media certainty that we expect, get it right. Remember a decade ago, well from last year when the Germans won the WC in Rio a year back? No. Euro 2004. We could have won it. A young Rooney inspired team, certainly could have. Who did? Greece. A nation who, other problems apart, have recently just lost twice to the Faroe Islands in Euro 2016 qualifying. The Germans in '04, were shocking. I saw them lose to a second XI Czech team in Lisbon that sent them home in disgrace. Ten years later..... The DFB put their national team first, our FA, the world's wealthiest, puts money first. Whatever the result on Sunday The Women can hold their heads up. They have played with pride and passion and a manager not afraid to change it if not right. The first match he got horribly wrong . Changed 3 players and tactics for the next game. Perhaps it was the heat or the artificial pitch but it didn't suit so change it. Started with the most prolific striker in the league in first game, realised the tournament was not for her , she has not been off the bench in the last 3 matches. Against Norway second best for an hour then a goal down brings off the player who scored 1 and made the other in the last game. 10 minutes later 2 1 up with a wonder goal that IMO never got the recognition it deserved . If it was Rooney , Gerrard or Kane we would have been deluged with it . As for the men it may be that after training on Monday Harry. Kane May have had a bit of a headache so Wednesday was always going to be a problem. Another listless turgid performance from the men under or over 21 makes no difference. Big up to the ladies and the manager
England U21's on 11:40 - Jun 25 with 7196 views | runningman75 | Next years Euros will be the same. Rooney will have the England scoring record ( though I would not count goals against San Marino). We will come up against more technically gifted teams and go home early.

Anyone would get the impression that you don't think the Premiershite is the best thing to happen in the history of the world EVER. Pile of fcukin sh!te. And to think people actually want the clubs they support to play in it...... #wnkfest Hey ho. Nothing will change unless the majority of supporters and clubs turn on it [Post edited 25 Jun 2015 11:51]

England U21's on 12:35 - Jun 25 with 7131 views | simmo | We still have some excellent prospects IMO; Butland, Stones, Ward-Prowse, Barkley, Oxlade Chamberlain, Sterling will all be regular England Seniors. Stones especially looks the real deal, a proper ball playing CB. It's the environments these players come through, they need to get off the manicured bowls greens of top level academies and into the league. Some of the Italian players last night had not only played proper 1st team football, but have gone out of their comfort zones and played abroad, including in the Championship.... You think a tournament facing preened United reserve players is going to faze them?? Then you have to have them coached by those that embrace expressionism and creativity, not Aidy fckin Bothroyd asking the bigger lads to get up top and run the channels.

England U21's on 13:55 - Jun 25 with 7061 views | DANRANGER | The side he had did well to get there. However any expectations to win it were far fetched as that team is ok at best. I only watched last nights game and we weren't as bad as the scoreline but we played a basic 4-4-2 and we lacked the creativity to break them down. Kane tried too hard to retrieve the situation. We were pretty rigid in midfield so maybe Hughes could have added something different but very few options on the bench. I wouldn't be too harsh on those involved and if we really wanted to win it we would have sent a better team but once again the England team are not as important as club commitments. It mainly highlights how poor the senior team have been and anyone young with some ability is rushed through to the full side. Barkley / Ox / Shaw should have been involved as they are not 1st team regulars.
England U21's on 14:08 - Jun 25 with 7034 views | headhoops | The English FA needs major surgery. They spend years trying to get rid of Blatter when they should be looking at why we under perform at virtually every tournament we actually manage to qualify for. Inept 'yes' men managers, club sides who only care about themselves and their prawn sandwich brigades of fans, clubs trousering more and more from Sky and hoarding all the English kids. The FA is so out of touch with whats happening in our game its scandalous. How many english players are currently plying their trade at the top clubs in La Liga, Bundesliga etc - a pathetic amount. If the English kids arent getting a game over here as our Premiershite is jammed full of overseas 'stars' get them learning new things abroad. stick Disco in charge of the FA.

England U21's on 14:09 - Jun 25 with 7032 views | CamberleyR | Why do we play 4-4-2 at any form of international level when hardly anybody who would play in the team plays it at club level anymore? Baffling.

this is the biggest issue for me. Even Woy doesn't play this system so we should be creating an identity to how we play but we still tend to just turn up with what we have. England now play quite a fluid 4-3-3 and the under 21's should do the same so I was surprised to see us with 2 up top, especially when we didn't necessarily have to win. Could have easily played Kane through the middle with Redmond and Lingard either side and hughes in front of Chalobah and Loftus Cheek (better than Forster-Caskey).
