Although from 2013, I've not seen anyone mention this odd little gem featuring the now deceased Paul Walker. If you missed it, do yourself a favour and check it out..

Saw Mad Max last night...surprisingly good entertainment. Possibly the most action-packed film i've seen, doesn't really let up for the whole two hours. 7/10
Just watched The Raid 2 on Netflix. If you like action packed films, this is well worth a watch. As good as the first one. Wish I watched Mad Max last night but the missus didn't fancy it.

''If recommend them all and in my opinion all have great acting. Tom Hardy is brilliant. He's especially good in the BBC TV series Peaky Blinders. If you haven't seen that, get on it. It's better than all of the movies''
Looking forward to watching Hardy take on the roles of both The Kray twins...
Definitely be watching that Pom, he has the Villain part mastered.
Another excellent one was a Sky drama The Take. It was on a few years back. He was a cockney gangster in the eighties

I agree that most main stream Blocbusters nowadays are pi££ poor but over the last few years I've seen some real gems if movies that are up there with the best I've seen :
The Town Drive Animal Kingdom Secret Linings Playbook ( one for the missus but surprisingly good) Mud
More recently, I've really liked
The Drop (Tom Hardy) Locke ( Tom Hardy) Captain Phillips Mad Max ( Tom Hardy) Kajacki
I'd recommend them all and in my opinion all have great acting. Tom Hardy is brilliant. He's especially good in the BBC TV series Peaky Blinders. If you haven't seen that, get on it. It's better than all of the movies

Is that you again Tom...? Didnt they tell you not to post about yourself...?
TBH though Worst this year have been Chappie & Sex Tape, I watch quite a few films and have seen some decent stuff over the past 12 months. I liked Divergent, Insurgent, Mad Max, Kingsman, Gaudians of the Galaxy, and most Avenger series stuff -you can tell i have kids.

The people responsible for 2 of those 3 films is about to release another film called Deadlands -
Saw Mad Max last week, absolutely stunning film, recommend seeing it on the big screen while you can as it adds so much.
Whiplash was discussed on here previously but it's an incredible film, if you're going to watch it, try and make sure it's on something with a decent sound system - makes all the difference!

Saw Birdman last night and, while it's far from a bad film, I found it frustrating. The mix of fantasy and realism was messy and poorly-executed and the frantic "seamless" camerawork and direction was too frantic.
Many great lines, but the direction was ultimately annoying.

I was gonna mention this as being one of the worst steaming pile of dog cum movies I've ever witnessed, but I was too ashamed to admit I'd seen it. I now feel liberated!

La Haine is brilliant, as is The Prophet - also French. My personal favourite foreign film is probably Oldboy, that film is mental.
