Sadly Richard Dunne is being punished for the early season use of the 3-5-3, he was awful in the back 3 and exposed at Spurs. But since we moved back to a back four, Rio has been exposed too many times, get Dunne back in alongside Caulker. I would have Hill in before Rio right now, how a player of his stature gets by without being good in the air astounds me. At fault Sunday for the second by not concentrating on his own player and not sticking his head in.
Build the spine of the team around Hill (needs must right now) Caulker, Dunne, Onuha, Barton (when fit) and Austin. Start keeping clean sheets at all costs and get some spirit onto the pitch, Karl Henry looks like he is up for it and will help to stifle the opposition. Get some width and pace on as well so Vargas, Phillips and Hoillett need to be involved and we learnt on Saturday that Bobby Zamora is a 15 minute impact player.
Fer, Mutch and Sandro need to earn their places after some big money moves and once again we are looking like Queens Park Strangers. Ealing Paintballing and Karaoke sessions being booked, super bunch of lads, just triffic.....Arry do the right thing and retire early.
