Well if you count loan signings the last by my reckoning was Michael Tonge. 18 games in 2010. Can't remember but I think we tried to take him permanently at one stage - or at least fans definitely wanted him... wages were probably more than 10 pounds a week, so at the time would have put us out of the running for him! ;0)
I always liked Jay - he tried his guts out in every game and did pretty well - especially in the prem when the midfield constantly collapsed in front of him. I think he would have been far better in a better balanced team.
Hope he goes ok for him and always keep an eye on Sheff Utd fixtures now. Hope they do well - I will take no joy from Cloughie not being a success. Hope to see him in the Championship again some time soon!
I reckon Eric Steele will get him sorted. He can't go from a 'player of the season' last year to rubbish. I think returning to PP has got between his ears. Once he settles and Eric gets hims going - he will go from strength to strength.
I think Eustace has a role to play but really we need a younger player who can grow into that role and if Coutts was auditioning Saturday then he will not be getting a call back! ;0)
We need to spend some money and get some class in as with Hendrick out we need to try to push on this season. Without him we will be sorely lacking until December or beyond!
Maybe but poor finishing was for me the problem. No excuse for some of the lashing that went on in good positions. Midfielders especially need to continually bury these if we are any chance for top 6. The one Ward missed after Hughes got free and set it up for him will stick in my memory. I was celebrating before it reached him - couldnt believe he scuffed it - that is Jamie's bread and butter normally!
I think they should use this track at PP for goal celebrations - it's ASH featuring Chris Martin (the other one!). Could be the anthem for DCFC as Chris leads us to the promised land!
Yeah I listened to radio derby and I can't say it sounded dirty - the guys commentating we're apalled by some of the decisions so I would say not. I don't mind how many cards we get if we get the win.... Not that Brian C would agree.... Not a fan of such things!
