QPR v Cardiff Coin Throwing
at 14:29 25 Aug 2015

Did anybody who attended the first home game of the season witness or was hit by coins thrown by the Cardiff fans about 15 minutes from the end?
If so, can you let me know? Not concerned about the incident outside the ground just what happened in the AL Block.

Apparently towards the end some Cardiff fans started throwing coins at QPR fans. In the paddock just below where they were thrown, a steward had tried 5 times to get help or support from the senior stewarding team but it appears he was ignored. When QPR fans asked him about what was being done about it, his response was "What do you want me to do about it?"
A fellow QPR fan has made a formal complaint to the club and received a response which hasn't really addressed the problem of security for the home fans. Nobody it would seem has got a copy of the CCTV footage of the incident or recordings of the radio communications between stewards. This is now being investigated by the LBHF Council and are asking for any witnesses.

QPR Stewards
at 18:16 15 Apr 2015

Firstly I would like to thank all the positive comments on the other thread.

One of these incidents happened to me, I was the one who attended the game against Watford with my nephew.

After fighting a four year legal battle against QPR I am fully aware of the implications and so I have chosen my following words carefully.

After I posted my experience on here for the first time a fellow fan contacted me and said the same thing had happened to them and so we got together and fought our cases against the arrogance within the management of the club.
Ours are not the only case, there was also another litigation brought about by a Sunderland fan and other incidents involving a number of other fans that I cannot comment on.
We are continuing our campaign and involving many parties that have any connection with the club to ensure that what we have experienced doesn't happen to any other football fan at QPR, whether they are home or away fans.

What concerns us, and it should concern each fan as well, is that anyone can attend a game, with their kids and by the time the final whistle is blown you could end up being charged for a criminal offence you did not commit, separated from your kids who have to make their own way home, assaulted by a thuggish element within the ranks of stewards and the possibility of a criminal record.
A lot of fans will agree to a charge just to get it over and done with but we didn’t.

I couldn't afford to do this, I was charged with punching a female, an act of violence at a football match, if found guilty I would have had a criminal record (given the nature of my job I would have found it extremely difficult to find work in my field again) a hefty fine, the possibility of going to prison and losing my home.

The female steward had claimed my nephew was banned from the club, from the statement she gave to the police it was the wrong name.
She claimed in her statement that I punched her and the other male steward backed this up.
This however contradicted what was shown on CCTV that the club gave to the courts as evidence. The police gave a statement to this effect but the CPS wanted to go ahead with a prosecution anyway.
After I was cleared from the magistrates of the charge, I used this footage to pursue a claim against QPR. It is now their policy never to disclose CCTV unless requested by the police for prosecution.

I was stopped from purchasing any tickets from the club, even prevented from taking my terminally ill brother from attending one last game together, this is an opportunity I will never get again and I will never forgive the club for.

At a conservative guess I would say (based on what our legal costs came to) that the three claims against QPR have cost them in the region of £400,000.
A reckless and unnecessary waste of money in my opinion.

I have in my possession the CCTV footage but I have been advised I cannot publish for fear of prosecution and I know QPR are monitoring this situation.
I have also been advised that they and the stewards could still come after me if I say anything that is not true but everything I have said is backed up with evidence of the CCTV so I welcome the further attention this will attract should they wish to try.

Since QPR have been aware of the publicity that this will attract (there are more publications to be made) my nephew, who is now a season ticket holder, has been banned from the club……coincidence? QPR say they have CCTV evidence to show inappropriate behaviour but have yet to produce it.

I would urge anybody who has been on the receiving end or who may receive such treatment to contact Amanda Jacks of the FSF, amanda.jacks@fsf.org.uk, she works with all fans and without her help and that of a very good solicitor, we would never have been able to bring a case against QPR.

I don’t know if I’ll be allowed to attend a home game again, it would be very vindictive of the club if they prevented me or my family from ever attending again although I do go to away games and I was at Wembley.

Mine and Bob's campaign will continue and I'll keep you updated of the outcome.
