Ryan Nelson 16:58 - Jun 14 with 6821 views | BerkoRanger | about to have a medical at QPR, according to the SSN tickertape. A good solid squad player that will help give us strength in depth and at a really good price! [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Ryan Nelson on 13:13 - Jun 15 with 1341 views | HAYESBOY | Mark Hughes must know what he is doing but imo the only issue i have is with Nelson and what he is coming in for. If he is back up to bolster the squad then ok. Same goes for Johnson. Green i think is a good signing and an improvment on what we have. We need to sort out Tarbs contract. If possible sign up Tawio and Diakite. Diakite looks to be done. If no Tawio then a decent left back. IMO we also need another CM, a RB or CB depending on his plans for Onuoha. We would also need a winger to rival Tarbs, Mackie & Phillips. If johnson signs then the forwards are ok.
| Smells like a trout farm in here |

Ryan Nelson on 12:51 - Jun 15 by corse | ok i know the transfer window have not opened yet and everything might happen but nelson, johnson, green? are they serious? f f s! all past their best before dates. especially johnson. dont want him anywhere near loftus road. no news we have actually signed diakite and i think taiwo is going to france . our midfield is crap and barton probably out. faurlin on his way back which is a good thing but what do we have. buz??derry???swp??? if thats the deal it wont amuse me a moment. and if we have to rely on those three signings mentioned and not looking to add some real quality into defence and midfield i think we might look at the postions 17-20 again. If you have spotted obvious flaws in what is "rumoured" to be Mark Hughes' and Mike Rigg's transfer target policy I would urge you to contact Phil Beard and offer your services via a short term consultancy contract to make sure we buy the right players. Quickly, before it is too late and we are doomed for relegation.

Ryan Nelson on 13:11 - Jun 15 by YorkRanger | I've no issue with Nelson and Johnson. People need to keep perspective here. They played less than 20 games between them last year, are both ageing and have carried injuries so they are not being purchased IMHO to be first team starters. However they have proven premiership experience and much like Cerny would be valuable members of a squad and be called upon to cover without looking out of their depth. We can all remember the reaction when we signed Hill and Derry a couple of years back.... |
Thats a good point about derry and hill but the premier league has less room for error
Ryan Nelson on 16:16 - Jun 15 with 1208 views | Gloucs_R | Diakite Johnson Green Nelson Fabio Starting to build a good squad. I suspect he will bring in another 2/3 players we will pay for. Has Buzz signed a new contact yet?

Ryan Nelson on 22:01 - Jun 15 with 1145 views | JonDoeman | QPR have agreed the signing of New Zealand captain Ryan Nelsen. The 34-year-old defender is available on a Bosman free transfer following a short spell at Tottenham. Nelsen has completed a medical and agreed a one-year contract at Loftus Road with the option of a further year. He joined Spurs on a six-month deal at the end of January after seven years at Blackburn, where he played under R’s boss Mark Hughes. Ironically, Hughes beat QPR to his signing when he captured him from MLS side DC United in 2005. The then Rangers manager Ian Holloway was keen to sign Nelsen and invited him for a trial before Hughes intervened. Nelsen was troubled by injuries towards the end of his Blackburn career and did not start a Premier League game during his time at Spurs.

Said that myself yesterday, as long as he's fit enough to start most games,

Ryan Nelson on 22:19 - Jun 15 with 1118 views | BklynRanger | I'm happy with this. Always thought Nelsen was quality. Yes, he's had the knee problems but he's had time at Spurs to prove his fitness, which as far as I know, he has. At worst he'll be another Fitz, but on a free this time, on better wages. At best he'll be an ever present wise old head at the centre of our defence who can still play and bring a player like Nedum on greatly. Very reasonable gamble far as I'm concerned. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Ryan Nelson on 22:55 - Jun 15 with 1088 views | Kiwi76 | I'll stick up for Kiwi captain - no way is he another Hall or Dyer. Getting old but is a 100% effort player and will do a job alongside younger legs. Did get injured at Blackburn but they used it as excuse to not make contract payments/extension. Don't think he's 38 games but who knows Derry started 30.
Ryan Nelson on 23:00 - Jun 15 with 1080 views | qprmick | I hope Hughes knows what he is doing, in a 25 man squad there is not much room for error.

Old guy brought in on one-year deal means that nothing is expected of hi beyond back up material. Anything else would be a bonus. Considering who we have just offloaded (Hall, Gabbidon, etc) its a good deal. Of course, he will have to win the job of waterboy off Dyer!!

Ryan Nelson on 18:21 - Jun 14 by BAWHoops | I think the squad is looking stronger GK - Green, Cerny DF - Young, Onouha, Ferdinand, Traore, Hill, Nelsen, possibly Fabio? MF - Diakite?, Faurlin, Derry, Barton, SWP, Mackie, Taarabt, Smith ST - Cisse, Zamora, AJ, Helguson Probably need a CM and a winger in there to make us nice and competitive |
Long way to go yet before game 1. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/queens-park-rangers/startseite/verein_1039.htm -I am not sure Luke Young, Buz, Smith or even Onuha will be in that squad below. But you did a great job there. I think a centerback and midfielders will still be sought out, and Samba is indeed a big factor. With all the free transfers, hopefully that is one splash Fernandes is willing to make.
