“@aslfitzhall: Sad day for me just been told my contract is not being renewed at QPR.Been at the club 5yrs would of liked to of heard it frm the manager”
The first of many I expect. Shame his injury record was so appalling as I thought on his day he is a top defender.
All the best Fitz.

`in fairness he was a fairly decent player for us however that groin and his inability to play more than 4 1/2 games in a row before he'd ping it added to the high wages he was earning meant he was never going to be a fans favourite

Another dagger to the heart after last nights bollox ,was sure Hall and our Bentley driving goal machine were certainties for improved extended contracts.

Those Fitz Hall numbers again. Conservative estimate £14,000 a week, four and a half year contract = £3.3m in wages for 99 starts. Don't let the door smack you in the arse on the way out.

I'm not going to knock any of our players who are on their way out of the club, five years of service is a long time and it just didn't happen for him for whatever reason and sometimes the player has to look at himself, and others, the club too.
Just why did he suffer from so many groin and hamstring injuries and what extent did we go to try and remedy the situation and work on prevention? Had we been able to keep him on the pitch, we may have been able to really work him into a top class centre back.
He had all the necessary attributes you would want in a defender. He's tall, lean and looks mean, so you would have thought there was plenty to work with. He wasn't the best technically but if someone worked on improving his heading and passing a little bit, he would have raised his level dramatically.
In the end, he just never got going and we've said that about so many of our players over the years and is something we need to improve on going forward.
On the evidence however this was the right decision and I hope he can find somewhere else and go on and do better than he did here.

Ah good, we'll use that as the official LFW party line

I think he had long standing injury problems before signing for us. You're always running a risk with players like that and to give him 4 years plus is just odd.
