“@aslfitzhall: Sad day for me just been told my contract is not being renewed at QPR.Been at the club 5yrs would of liked to of heard it frm the manager”
The first of many I expect. Shame his injury record was so appalling as I thought on his day he is a top defender.
All the best Fitz.

Will always remember the daft decision to let him take that penalty because he was on a hat-trick against Barnsley!
That was the day I took a dislike to him. It was his debut I believe !
He was awful in defence that day but some fans thought he was brilliant as he scored twice. Then being an arrogant fool he decided he would take the penalty. It was worse than Scott Jones' effort.

"You wait all your life for this day, then when it comes, you don't know what to say."
"Hush Edna, your tears say more than words ever could."
A truly terrible defender who had the uncanny knack of picking up knocks whenever the going got tough.
I'd heard he was on £22k per week. Whatever the figure it was almost certainly outrageous when compared to his ability.
All QPR fans can now rest easy, safe in the knowledge we need not fear the name HALL in the starting line up at any point in coming seasons.
However, I will miss the anger releasing opportunity to scream "MARK UP, HALL! MARK THE F*CKING FORWARD!" every time he played and managed to lose his man in the space of seconds.

It wasn't his debut, it was the first day of the season under Dowie. He'd been here half a season
My Newcastle mates were telling me the other day what a superb player Fitz Hall was, "effortless class" were the words they used. I agreed with the effortless part.
I'm glad he's gone, but if you put Clint Hill in his body, he would have been a fine player.

Exactly. Bottled it against any opponent that was a bit physical - you can't do that at CB. Good riddance.
can't remember seeing a player who appears to have all the attributes to be a decent centre back held back by a combination of apparent 'over belief' in his own ability, couldn'tgivaafukk attitude, and sheer will to not learn from his own mistakes and a ability to nearly make Kieron Dyer look like a healthy individual.
if he rewatched Clint's performances over the past 6 months 1,000 times he'd still convince himself he should have been POTY.
Why should Hughes have to break the news to Hall, surely he knew that his services(lack of) would no longer be needed. Phil Beard is paid handsomely. With a huge salary, comes having to do unpleasant tasks. When we sacked Warnock, Fernandes didn't tell him it was was Phil Beard who sat him down and told him. Is Hall's ego that big that he thinks he should get better treatment than Warnock?
If Hall wanted a new contract he wouldn't tell the manager face to face, he'd head off to his agent and instruct them to do it.
As said here the worst thing about him was how frustrating he was, not just because he couldn't hit a beach ball if he threw it up for himself to head (I have never seen someone his size so poor in the air) but because his CONSTANT injuries meant a lack of development or form for him and a lack of continuity in defence when people like Magilton played him as soon as he could run. Then not accepting a wage cut meaning we had to sell much better players like Gorkks and keep him.
I think MAYBE with proper recovery times and working on prevention he could have MAYBE become what Warnock thought he could when he made him his captain but ultimately he has been a massive waste of money given his return. 5 years, less than 100 appearances and absolute millions spent. He's got nothing to moan about, he's had us over a barrel!
Those Fitz Hall numbers again. Conservative estimate £14,000 a week, four and a half year contract = £3.3m in wages for 99 starts. Don't let the door smack you in the arse on the way out.
I dont think he was nearly as bad as some make out on here - he was not the player he could be but not the player being made out either.
BUT... the injury thing, which really was bad. And THAT ALONE should be a reason for not getting anew contract.
He never had a run in the team - 99 games in 5 years suggests he missed just under 2 out of 3 games. the fact it was almost always the same injury suggests a problem that someone should have sorted out.
Not sorry to see him go but not becuase of his performances on the pitch.
I'm not going to knock any of our players who are on their way out of the club, five years of service is a long time and it just didn't happen for him for whatever reason and sometimes the player has to look at himself, and others, the club too.
Just why did he suffer from so many groin and hamstring injuries and what extent did we go to try and remedy the situation and work on prevention? Had we been able to keep him on the pitch, we may have been able to really work him into a top class centre back.
He had all the necessary attributes you would want in a defender. He's tall, lean and looks mean, so you would have thought there was plenty to work with. He wasn't the best technically but if someone worked on improving his heading and passing a little bit, he would have raised his level dramatically.
In the end, he just never got going and we've said that about so many of our players over the years and is something we need to improve on going forward.
On the evidence however this was the right decision and I hope he can find somewhere else and go on and do better than he did here.
+1
Well said Neil.
Won't slate him, but the bell tolled some time ago for Fitz.
I genuinely don't think that most of the posters on here want to slag off players when they are leaving, but Fitz is probably one of the exceptions!
for a guy that insisted on wearing his shorts like a basketball player he certainly couldn't jump like one. I think the way Samba (I might be wrong) bullied him at home when Blackburn got a point opitimised the difference between what Fitz is and what he actually thinks he is. Makes Betty look quite hard!

TBh I've been absolutely amazed by some of the comments I've seen on Twitter. First of all I don't understand all the people rushing to Tweet him thanking him for his efforts, wishing him the best of luck, saying they're sorry he's leaving etc because, frankly, why are you sorry he's leaving and what efforts exactly? However, that's people's prerogative and that's up to them.
But several people have leapt on me for my "good riddance" stance and questioned what kind of supporter I am. I'll tell you what kind of supporter I am, the kind who has been paying £30 for match tickets every fcking week for the last four years to watch that bloke trot out one game in three and turn in mediocre performances for somewhere between £14k and £18k a week.
Now if I'd sought Hall out on Twitter and sent him a load of stuff about how crap I think he is, how I think he's been thieving a living for four years etc then that would be harsh. But this idea that you can't express an opinion online, positive or negative, is a bloody mystery to me. Is it their fault the club offered them ridiculous contracts? No. Does that somehow mean we're not allowed to say that they've been a gigantic waste of money and it's fantastic news that they're finally leaving? Also no.
I'm going to absolutely fcking love watching all the Paladini wasters leave our club this summer. Agyemang and Borrowdale next please. Good bye, don't let the door smack your overpaid ars on the way out.

Amen to that!
Rowan Vine is the one i'm most looking forward to him leaving!
You could say he was unlucky with his injury, but the breathtaking arrogance of the man and his utter failure to bother getting fit or trying on loan spells is staggering.
