Darnell Furlong well played 23:38 - Mar 6 with 8641 views | ChrisNW6 | Really nice to see him walking round the pitch with the QPR players at the end clapping the QPR fans. Obviously the club still means a lot to him and he did not deserve any booing.

Darnell Furlong well played on 10:26 - Mar 7 by terryb | He definitely walked around the ground clapping our supporters previously. I remember Darnell & Charlie Austin doing a lap of honour a few years ago. His clearance last night was on a par with Rob Dickie at Burnley(?) last season! |
Wasn’t aware of that Terry. Cements his “legend” status even more for me then.
Darnell Furlong well played on 10:40 - Mar 7 with 2011 views | robith | I don't condone throwing stuff, but Johnston reaped what he sowed. Shushing a stand chanting for a recently deceased club legend, then continually giving it was classless. Loved it when Field shoved him off and he had to do the walk of shame. Nothing should've been thrown but really enjoyed that by the time he got to the goal he looked like he was going to cry

Darnell Furlong well played on 09:58 - Mar 7 by johnhoop | Yeah but Johnston earned every bit of the abuse with his arrogant celebrations in front of the Loft. The bottle throwing was totally brain dead though and may leave the club open to sanctions. |
Oh, I totally agree. Nearly lost my voice today for chanting 'w***er' at him.
Darnell Furlong well played on 11:21 - Mar 7 with 1819 views | StrawberryHillR | It was another shambolic decision by the ref. Third of three subs in the same break, but the wind-up merchant is the only one he makes walk around three sides of what by then was a rabid bearpit. Probably gets an upgrade by the assessor for doing the right thing as he was closer to the touchline, but the smarter thing to do would have been to make him run off the pitch. The less said about the rocket scientist who hurled a drink at him the better... [Post edited 7 Mar 11:22]

Agree it was the wrong decision - but would add that 2 or 3 of our players and half of R block were yelling at the ref for him to come off on that side as it was so much closer. Arguably he should have read the room, but the intensity levels on & off the pitch at that moment were off the scale.

Darnell Furlong well played on 09:24 - Mar 7 by Antti_Heinola | Seconded. Boils my p!ss that some fans just think they can be abusive like that, yet if a player ever did similar they'd be the first ones demanding a ban. Darnell played at every level for us, never asked for a move, is a fantastic pro, his dad's a club legend. What are these morons thinking? Same with the tvvats. throwing stuff at Johnston - fine boo him, etc, but why do that sh!t? Why ruin a fantastic night? |
Agreed about Darnell . Lovely kid and a great pro. As for Johnson. Don’t chuck stuff at him as he’s going off. It will get the club in trouble. On the other hand , Johnson has to take some responsibility for goading the fans in the loft end( I was one of them) It was unprovoked in the first place and he became enemy number one from then on. Don’t condone the bottle throwing but he was being a snidey little tvvat.

He started to - slowly - walk across the pitch but Field grabbed him and shoved him off in the direction of the nearest touchline. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I didn't get this players attitude, it seemed really odd. He scored a lovely goal and just seemed intent on winding the crowd up ...very strange. Maybe that is why Celtic shipped him out on loan, he might have a attitude problem.

Darnell Furlong well played on 15:58 - Mar 7 with 1333 views | Paddyhoops | I noticed the look of fear on Cedric Kipre’s when he was getting pelters from the Loft end after his handball. He looked genuinely scared staring into the crowd. It was a bear pit last night . Let’s keep it that way till the end of the season , without the bottle throwing, of course .

I don't think Kipre was scared of anything. After shoving Field into the hoarding he stood there and fronted up the entire Ellerslie Road.

I think you do have to admit that Kipre is the type of player you want in your side - throwing himself on the line, full blooded tackles and blocking everything thrown at him. Alongside their goalkeeper he was their man of the match...

Darnell Furlong well played on 09:15 - Mar 7 by francisbowles | Club should ban this 'fan' for abusive and unruly behaviour. Old bill might take a look as well, incitement to cause an affray or some such. This gets our club a bad name. Respect to Darnell, for his obvious love of our club and walking away from this moron. |
He's an idiot for having a go but not sure he should be banned. The idiots throwing bottles of beer was a bigger problem, that and the elastic band man
