As Clive has said before, we've all watched too much football for our own good (particularly at Loftus Road) and most of us aren't professional coaches or ex-players...but isn't one of the first things you're taught as a kid is to get your body over the ball if you want to keep it down? It amazes me that professional footballers who have spent their entire lives playing football don't seem to be able to do this, even occasionally!
The 1973/74 Rochdale AFC team is widely regarded as the worst-ever to play in the Football League, finishing bottom of the third division, winning just twice in 46 games, ending the season with a 22-game winless run and using 32 players including some amateurs drafted in from Sunday league clubs to make up numbers! This book tells the story of this difficult season for both the club and the town.
