Transfer rumours 11:26 - Dec 29 with 14995 views | wessex_exile | Two currently doing the rounds - Wiredu might be off to Forest, presumably for a decent fee and/or player exchange, and we’re close to signing Ryan Loft from Scunnie for a reported £50k fee.

Transfer rumours on 15:57 - Dec 29 with 4760 views | durham_exile | Wessex I reported about the Forest interest in Brendan Wiredu the other day on the site. Regardless of the fee received that would be a bad bit of business given that he is our best midfield player and even if we are serious about a top seven place then losing players of his quality is disappointing at the very least. The fee would also go toward substantial losses incurred this season rather than the war chest. Ryan Loft £50,000 from Scunny enough said. Whilst I remain optimistic (he is at least 6ft 3ins tall) losing Wiredu is two steps backwards and only one forwards!!!!! Happy New Year. Who is doing our scouting!! Humes et al. Hopefully Creepy Crawley will be on at the weekend. Up the U's

Transfer rumours on 21:28 - Dec 29 with 4719 views | burnsieespana | Loft might just be the person to get us the goals we need BW be a loss but we are fairly well served in the midfield area.
Transfer rumours on 12:58 - Dec 30 with 4662 views | wessex_exile | Sadly, losing Wiredu is inevitable I'm afraid, it was just going to be about when and whether for the right price. That may be an uncomfortable truth, but it's not a reflection on ambition, just a reality check that lower league teams, particularly in the current crisis, have to ensure the finances are balanced. It is, after all, one of the sustainability models our academy is built on - find them young, train them up, gain benefit on the pitch and then sell them on. Okay, I know Wiredu isn't an academy product, but I bet the training facilities and set-up were a big factor in him deciding to join us in the first place. Incidentally, Wiredu features for January on my new Col U calendar - guess someone somewhere in the design department figured maybe he wouldn't be around after that I'm sure Scunthorpe would much rather keep hold of Ryan Loft too, he is after all their leading goalscorer (six in all competitions), but even £50k might make all the difference to their finances. Everyone has been moaning about signing a striker in January using the proceeds of our cup runs and TV money, well here's a striker who seems to know where the net is, and in a price bracket we can afford. If it doesn't happen, it does at least show we're out there looking.

Loft has scored 8 goals in 41 games for Scunthorpe so hardly prolific. Not convinced he will be the saviour some believe. And the malaise runs too deep to be swept away by one signing.

Transfer rumours on 10:23 - Jan 3 with 4407 views | bwildered | COLCHESTER United have confirmed the departure of striker Shawn McCoulsky. Perhaps the next step is to return all outfield loanees. Except from Turner, other loanees are inconsistent with no decent return in assists and goals . The club cannot afford.to play both front runners with little impact has the goal column is pretty bare with little to scare opposition defenders.

Quite agree. The main change we need to make is to replace Mullins. Not going to happen though. In other news Shawn McCoulsky has left the club. Another wasted signing, only given the requiset 8 minute sub appearances to show what he can do. Considering our diabolical goalscoring record, that was a disgrace.

Transfer rumours on 11:04 - Jan 3 with 4395 views | burnsieespana | What intrigues me is the thought process of signing somebody like Shaun Mc, barely using him and then letting him go as not the first time it has happened Is it because the deadly duo sign them but the Manager then won't play them because he doesn't consider them good enough! Weird.

https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/joey-barton-explains- Loft won't be joining the Us. Apparently we now have a 5 man recruitment team! If true I'd wager hard cash that the number of signings in January will be below the number of those trying to make those signings.

Better dust off that copy of the guide to non league grounds! Realistically were we ever in the running for Loft? Things can only get better me thinks.

Best wishes for the year Durham. Please don't mention non league, I'm trying hard to be positive. There's so much about this season that's different yet no different from last and the bottom two places are desperately close. I realise we're not half way through yet but we're really not a very good side at all and if we dropped out I don't think we'd ever come back. For strikers we should be looking for high scoring non league players (Tchimanga, Lemonheigh-Evans, Yussuf) or regularly scoring Scottish league strikers. We need to offer players something apparently better than what they have. For those like Lofts we are not that option I'm afraid. It's not just strikers either.... We are shipping goals with ease now too.

Pinault - Happy New Year I must say that whilst not enthused about Loft I was shocked when he signed for Bristol Rovers (who apparently were not initially in the running for his signature). Things must be bad if we cannot even attract a player like him to play for us. Surely this means that Humes and De Souza must go, because this was a monumental cock up. Another striker lost at the eleventh hour. In many respects this is worse than last year because we didn't have the support then (home or away) and our results are simply getting worse. I wonder if the Chairman will go if and when we are relegated. This is simply awful. Things are at such a low ebb at present. We look to the team to restore faith but they are intent on sinking still lower. Even if HM does go who will come in to replace him and will they be simply another lip service appointment. We as a club seem incapable of bringing in quality players. The squad on paper should be streets ahead of where we are but it is grim indeed. Up the U's Things can only get better.

Transfer rumours on 16:50 - Jan 6 with 4092 views | burnsieespana | Mullins seems to have suggested player or players will be in by Saturday. I hope he isn't meaning, Jasper's loan deal will be extended because that, whilst needed as the boy has done well, is not what we need.
