Indeed my friend. Do we have a date yet when you are taking over this site you've told us about? And do I get to keep my job?

Phil S deleted that thread then.... on 22:24 - Apr 3 by TheResurrection | So nobody is admitting to why a thread was deleted? And for no obvious reason other than Phil Sumbler was asked certain questions about his role in the Trust and why he bunked off from the splinter group just after starting it.... |
Strange why you would believe that Considering there have been many - far more personal - threads on here on the very same subject why do you think one started by someone enjoying a bank holiday sherbet or 10 would be removed? I mean it doesn't make sense does it? I would suggest that much like Saturday's matchday thread that disappeared in the middle of the game and some that Steve was moaning about (end of season fixtures) that either a blip has happened and it has disappeared or a moderator has decided to remove, neither of which I have the facility to be able to tell you. But of course you can believe what you choose to believe as it is your probative to do so. Honestly, I genuinely have far more important things to worry about than who deleted a reasonably harmless thread that I was enjoying participating in. Have a good day drop an email to support@fansnetwork.co.uk if you wish to pursue the question further but you will need to look a lot further than it being deleted because it asked a question that has been raised many times on here before and yet not deleted.

If you want a gut feel I'd go for the former - based on the discussions last week it does seem that some things that seem harmless enough get removed

Probably no way to be able to do it but is there anyway a mod would have to log in to remove threads? (and leave a trace) Seems to me that a lot of the time threads are deleted purely for amusement by some moderators

Where did you look? Everything that happens on the internet is traceable. Unless one knows how to not allow themselves to be traced. 99.9% of the users of this site, or any site would not know how to do this. I doubt very much that that a mod on this site. Or even if the site had that kind of functionality/capability. All activity on a server is logged, Suggest you check your site stats if you really want to find out! OR even the underlying DB which is likely to some kind of audit?

All reputable VPN providers, especially the ones you pay for, do not use logs: FYI -" A VPN is like a secret tunnel that allows you to browse the web anonymously, but what makes a VPN safer than a proxy server is that a VPN uses bank-grade encryption to secure all your data. You and your movements are totally untraceable, making you effectively anonymous online" Many have no logs or minimal logs, so that when the authorities come knocking they can cooperate without their users getting into trouble https://www.bestvpn.com/best-no-logs-vpns/

And that proves what exactly? FYI I know what they are and don’t need to look up definitions. I have however, coded and worked on custom implementations quite a few times for various organisation and institutions in my past. You need to think outside of the box my friend. Also, as there is a dB underlying the forum there is a better than evens chance there is an audit table there. I’d surprised if it wasn’t and I’d imagine so would many users of the site knowing there is a potential issue regarding he policing of privacy etc.

Okay conspiracy theory time : Suppose all the Mods logged in through VPN's. The one that deleted the threads presumably cannot be traced Just a thought. TBH I don't believe it is anything other than a glitch as Phil described but as this thread seems to be full of a lot of it's and buts, just thought I'd add to its' silliness. Not having a pop at you friend, just asking the question for my own information. I bow to your superior knowledge !

I’m not sure what your question is? Read my other post about audit tables in the dB. That has nothing to do with vpn. And, computers don’t really make mistakes, people do.... they fail but if it’s a mistake it’s because it was told to make one. If you get my drift. Frankly I don’t care whether he did , didn’t or knew or did not. I was only asking where he’d looked? There are a number of ways to identify activity’s on the Internet. Facebook, google, yahoo plus many others do it as a matter of course. And with a bit of creative scripting it’s possible to identify all sorts of info. Then there’s sin the servers stats engine. I mean, I could go on and on. And of course, as I’ve already said. Audits audits audits!

I just wondered if VPN's could hide the Mod's activity in deleting threads. Based on what you are telling me, it can't, so I accept that. The way some go on about it on this thread you'd swear it was the Dark web, not a football forum !
