Could hardly be a better time for her to do it - massive poll lead, Labour in disarray, Liberals insignificant... Bit hard to accept this country is basically right wing these days, but there you go...

Poll: Who is your player of the season?

She can't call a general election with a fixed term parliament. She needs Labour to agree to it - can anyone rely on Labour backbenchers to vote for execution? It's gonna be a horrible mess if this is what it is - potentially the biggest shambles in living memory. Could we end up with Queenie asking Corbyn to form a government?

Or maybe the Queen wants to retire? How would that be announced?

Labour have said they will agree to vote to overturn the fixed term in order to have an early election.

You mean Corbyn said that. That's not quite the same thing as 'Labour' saying it.

Corbyn and rebel backbenchers both want it for different reasons.

Other idea being floated is that she is ill and resigning.

What she up to, destroying the Labour Party as an electoral force, hopefully forever.

They're even talking about the table thing outside no 10 - saying it's not the usual 'state' one but a political type one.

See you all on June 9th

I fail to see how this is in the best interests of the UK population.

We have less than 2 years to negotiate one of the complex and most important negotiations in our island's history, where millions of jobs could be impacted, and we're now going to fanny around for two months with an election in order to bolster the Conservative majority.

Silver linings being it could end Corbyn, thereby helping speed up Labour's return to being an effective opposition, and the Lib Dems may win a few seats back.

As a remainer may well go for the Lib Dems.

8 weeks - just enough time for Labour to decide whether they want to take part or not. Farage is no doubt thinking of getting the hustings flannels out of storage

Poll: Remy - can he play in the playoffs - who's opening post is the best?

If Labour hang onto the North and the Lib twáts gain ground in the South, which they will, this could be an almighty blunder.

Don't get why they didn't wait until they'd changed the boundaries.

choice is pretty clear. If you you don't want an NHS vote Tory.

I know you don't like "The Lib Dems", but you do realise you are a Liberal? Practically everyone in western society is a liberal, either a social liberal, economic liberal, or both.

What will Labour do with Keir Starmer during this campaign? Put him up front with Corbyn and McDonnell?
0

What is bullshit from May is that she will be able to do Brexit without opposition or less.

It's just going to wind up all the remoaners to vote against her and vote for tiny tim, desperation at it's worst.

Liberal Democrats to make a comeback similar to when Clegg was leader. They'll be the swing factor and needed to form a government with Labour.

If everybody already is one then we don't actually need a Liberal Party then do we?
