Southend Match Thread on 20:37 - Jul 26 with 1771 views | rosseeles | cant wait to see the excuse for faurlin not being there. This is very much like exeter, hoilett just isnt interested nor is granero. AJ has looked pretty good if he stays fit he'll do really well...but cant see what kind of service hes going to get
Southend Match Thread on 20:37 - Jul 26 with 1768 views | danehoop | I am hoping for a few changes at half time. There really seems to be very little creativity or threat in that side at the moment. Johnson looks OK, Zamora slow, SWP actually not bad and doing a fair bit of work, laid on the goal and at the moment looks the main creative threat. Granero trying to be the ball making passing crafted midfielder, but held back by a lack of talent. Simpson and Yun look OK, but not exactly pulling up trees. Onouha looks ok, but probably having to do a fair bit of work. Henry, OK, but surely not in the team ahead of Faurlin. Hoilet is apparently playing, but cant say i noticed and Green is standing by some goal posts getting passed to a lot by everyone.

Southend Match Thread on 20:39 - Jul 26 with 1749 views | BerkoRanger | Some good build up play particularly with Granero playing deep. Karl Henry MOM for me, esp first twenty minutes. Weak link defo BZ - I think Crouchy would have had 1/2 goals with the crosses in the box. Looking as though they are playing as a team! Some good passing and movement from SWP. If Uncle Tony is right and a few new faces are coming in - think its looking positive.

Can I have a look through your rose tinted spectacles? Mine seem to be watching a fairly poor team which doesn't look close to doing anything in the Championship and whose main creative threat is currently sitting in a park in London playing keepie uppie with his mates.

What can be read into being told you're playing in a "behind closed doors friendly" instead of tonight's game? Is it fitness driven? Or an indication that they aren't part of the plans? Any ideas?

thats what i was getting at, its the 1st teams last friendly, so would have thought they would have all gone down there if not injured
