Southgate on paper has done a brilliant job and I think he was pushed to stay and do the Euros as there was no viable alternative. There are many downsides to the PL and clearly one that effects the national side is a lack of English managers.

Klopp’s strong association with Liverpool makes him a non-starter, both politically within the FA and also amongst a hardcore of England fans.
Though I think he would be the best candidate for getting the best out of our big-name players.
I would not see a problem within the FA politically in appointing Klopp and I don't think the majority of England fans would be that upset, they like you would see it as a big name quality appointment,

I think the issue of Scousers booing the national anthem regularly, and Klopp’s defence of them, would become problematic.
Alexander-Arnold was getting pelters from a lot of England fans in Germany; good job he scored the penalty against the Swiss.

Half the scousers who boo the national anthem arent from Liverpool, they are from Norway, Ireland and the home counties, so won't be a problem

The whole Scouse not English thing has really escalated in recent years and is a distraction from the fact their ground is full of tourists who wouldn’t know their way from Lime Street to the ground if it wasn’t for the staff in the hi-vis jackets showing them the way.
