The lass that ran the pub, Val, died suddenly this week aged only 54.
I drank in there after most games at it was great for post game discussions/banter and was welcoming to both home and away fans...i've supped more than a few ales with Daleys in there.
she kept a good range of ales and provided a free vat of stew after all matches
...last home game i took in a nice ham salad barm, purchased freshly from the World Famous Bury Market, together with a bananana. No problem from any foodist stewards or owt. All item were eaten at half time and i didn't drop any litter.
Last season i purchased eight (8) black puddings from Chadwicks and again was allowed in, i didn't eat them at half time though. The Black Puddings could have been used as a missile and hurled at the opposition manager, it was Ronnie Moore that day so i could have been justified.
I had a chippy related problem at sPotland the other year but i'm still too traumatised to retell the story so don't ask thanks
There is a pub right by the main club car park, the Mersey Clipper functional and away fan friendly. If you're travelling via M62 and Birkenhead Tunnel the Clipper is probably best as the others are t'other side of PP
DONT GO in the Prenton Park Hotel on the corner or ANY of the pubs in Rock Ferry or Birkenhead Town Centre (although the Stork Hotel is decent but a bit out of the way)
i recall having a debate with a dAley (i can't remember who now) before the current series against Pakistan started, i said Amir was a class bowler but he refused to accept it, i wonder if he wants to reconsider?
Amir's just taken 4 for 0 in 3 overs
