West Indies won the toss and bowl. Trott to open with Cook and Tredwell selected as the spinner. To say I'm feeling underwhelmed at the moment would be an understatement! At least Stokes is back, that's one positive I suppose. It'll be interesting to see what impact Gibson has as coach again now we've lost Saker to the IPL. [Post edited 13 Apr 2015 15:06]

| Forum Thread | Colchester United Academy products at 11:23 5 Apr 2015
"The appearances by Alex Gilbey, Tom Lapslie and Sammie Szmodics in the win against Port Vale on Saturday took the U's to 102 appearances in the first team by home grown Academy products this season! Here's hoping to many more in the years to come." I wonder how many we have produced and how many have been in the past 10/15 years? Off memory Camps, Cannon, Allen, Tanser, Diba, Buckley, Taberner, Thompson, Warburton, Gilks, Byrne, McGivern, Townson, McCourt. Bet I've missed a few... Edit - missed Bell, Gray, Bywater, Warner, Moyo-Modise, Brown and Logan. [Post edited 5 Apr 2015 11:37]

| Forum Thread | McGinty/Muldoon loan spells at 14:02 24 Mar 2015
McGinty has had his loan spell extended by Aldershot, he's been getting to start games for them so it's good for both sides. Muldoon on the other hand has barely played for Halifax with his one start in a game were Halifax failed to score against a ten man Dartford side (red card in the first half too.) Not sure if the original loan moves were for the same time length... Guessing we might see him back around the squad soon if Halifax don't want him. |

Worthy of a chant at the start or a good reception at least? Felt as a player he never really let us down, unlike alot of the other shite that season, he also had an awful summer after, when he lost his daughter on holiday. Thoughts? |
| Forum Thread | England test squad at 14:15 18 Mar 2015
Full England squad: Alastair Cook (capt, Essex), Adam Lyth (Yorkshire), Jonathan Trott (Warwickshire), Gary Ballance, Joe Root (both Yorkshire), Ian Bell (Warwickshire), Ben Stokes (Durham), Jos Buttler (wk, Lancashire), Jonathan Bairstow (wk), Adil Rashid, Liam Plunkett (all Yorkshire), Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire), James Anderson (Lancashire), Chris Jordan (Sussex), Mark Wood (Durham), James Tredwell (Kent) Trott back as Woakes and Ali miss out through injury. Not sure what to make of this squad, excited to see the Durham lad, but don't get at all why Tredwell travels instead of Kerrigan. If Tredwell wasn't deemed good enough for the ODI squad, then how is he going to make the test squad? Guessing Kerrigan is on the scrap pile now then like KP. |

Well, I never expected a lot, but that was an awful performance today. Positives: Finn's 5 for. Taylor should have had a century, robbed by shit umpiring, not that it effected the result. Bell and Woakes did ok. Warner didn't get to hurt us much. Negatives: Awful bowling on the whole, Finn's stats are flattered by his hattrick when the damage was done, not one of the bowlers had a decent average today. Easy catches put down. Top order was dire, started slow, and once Bell fell it crumbled without a trace, to be honest the Convicts could have had us all out for 150 if they wanted to. Pedestrian Convict balls didn't get the treatment they should have been by us. Morgan managed to get his 4th duck in 7 innings! With New Zealand on Friday and probably 2 defeats in 2, we'll have our work cut out getting to the quarters, especially if anyone else manages a shock... So much for the team heading in a different direction after the dropping of Cook, we're a laughing stock again! |

Taylor robbed by a non decision at the Waca, England looking good so far aside from that. Edit - collapse started while I went toilet! [Post edited 1 Feb 2015 8:29]

If Andrew gets a thread for his cameo then Rafferty definitely deserves one. Shakey first ten minutes but excellent after that, narrowly missing out on MOM in my opinion. He's kicked on recently has as Camps who both deserve their places in the starting eleven at the moment! |

Are pulling out of sponsoring Oldham... Can we do whatever needs to be done to set up a deal with them? They are Rochdale based aren't they? |
| Forum Thread | Half season ratings at 12:45 29 Dec 2014
Josh Lillis 7 - Solid enough, no complaints Conrad Logan 9 - Absolute class, would love to see him back next July Jonny Diba 6 - Flapped a bit but plenty of potential Rhys Bennett 7 - Played various poisitons, should start every game for me. Joe Rafferty 5.5/6 - Seems to be struggling for form and has done for a while. Olly Lancashire 6 - Looks ok at this level, not exactly standing out. Ashley Eastham 7 - kicked on this season, looks the player we expected to see when he signed. Jack O'Connell 8 - Made a difference as soon as he signed, his talent being wasted at left back at the moment. Michael Rose 6 - As a senior player I expect a lot more at times, he's doing ok out of positon but doesn't really have much reason to be there most games. Scott Tanser 8 - Looked good in pre season and has pretty much every game since. Tom Kennedy 6 - Expected better, lost his place to Scott and never looked like getting it back. Jamie Allen 8 - Class act, no matter how bad the team has been, he's always been solid. Matt Lund 7 - Improved after signing his contract, will be missed now his shoulder has gone again. Stephen Dawson 8 - Brilliant, worth every penny, wish we got him the first time round when he left bury. Bastien Hery 7 - Looked good earlier in the season, seems like his form has gone with him being dropped so much, can only guess Hill knows something we don't. Peter Vincenti 8 - Despite lacking pace, he's an asset to the team and the goals he scores makes him invaluable for me, can see why Hill feels he needs to start him even when he's unfit. Andy Cannon 6 - Looks a good talent, not looked out of his depth when he's featured. Callum Camps 6 - Looked alright yesterday, needs to kick on. Matt Done 9 - Looks like a completely different player leading the line, he's been a joy to watch this season, worth every penny. Ian Henderson 8 - Not as good as last season, but still had a good year so far, having a bit of a wobble formwise since his ban. Calvin Andrew 6 - Last couple of appearances he's done better, just not effective enough in the target role for me, poor man's Lee Thorpe at best. Jack Muldoon 6 - Needs a run in the side, lack of pre season didn't help. Joe Bunney 5 - Like Rafferty his progess seems to have slowed as a footballer, won't improve without game time though will he?! Nyal Bell 6 - Unlucky not to score on debut, not seen since. Reuben Noble-Lazarus 6 - Looked ok, 2 important goals, can't get in the team and Hill always opts for Andrew instead. Tomasz Cywka 6 - Looked ok, haven't seen what he adds to the team as of yet but he's not had much time to be fair. Shamir Fenelon 5 - Who? George Donnelly 5 - Long gone thankfully. Probably missed someone, usually do, thoughts? Edit - McGinty, Kisimba, Hasler-Cregg and Joel Logan not featured yet either. [Post edited 29 Dec 2014 13:36]

Lambert, Lallana, Lovren, Shaw, Chambers and next Schneiderlin and Rodriguez... I know we sell a player roughly every season, but has there ever been a club in the past who decided it'd be a good idea to sell pretty much the entire squad? It's madness by the Saints board IMHO! |
