We need a spot in the ground called a singing section and no hassle from stewards and them to let us do our work as football fans might just attract more people from their houses that were missing from yesterday

most fans go there for the sole purpose of watching the game, if they choose not to sing what does that matter? doesn't make them any less of a fan, this argument has been brought up time and time again, and they shouldnt be looked down as lesser supporters.

It doesn't help with Crowd's dropping since after promotion

So 15 minutes of the 'game' is the only reason you go in the tds?

But as someone has said, there is a good atmosphere in the sandy, you can stand etc.... without the worry of stewards sitting you down.

So to moan as much as you are doing about the lack of atmosphere then saying you wont move because the tds has the studds is slightly beyond me

Add to that, what do you do at away games?

People make a choice, if you choose to theTDS over the Sandy then you are saying that Studds is more important than singing. If you want to sing then sing.

Was at Wigan today and there was less atmosphere in the home ends than at Spotland.

Singing at cricket, mainly away tours, is on the wane.

Initially it was witty banter, gallows humour and patriotic jingoism.

Songs about Jesse Ryders drinking habits, Shaun Pollocks inability to count, Shane Warne's hair, Ashley Giles promotional mugs etc used to interspace the well known 'we are the army, the barmy army' chants.

Nowadays this has mostly dropped off and its mainly the latter and/or Billy playing tunes such as Rudolph the red nosed reindeer for Jaques Rudolph.

The reason for this??? The old timers of the BA point the finger at the increased interest in being in the BA from..... Football fans.

Jimmy Saville doesn't do home tests anymore, only away ones and part of the reason is above, but mainly its because he spends all day every day being asked for his piccy.

Thats showbiz.

It's very unlikely that any fans have stopped coming because of the atmosphere. It's no different now than when we were rolling teams over easily.

i heard a rumour yesterday, that if the stadium company do buy the dale bar/ ratcliffes, they are going to open it up to the sandy laners at half time, if that was the case would you switch to the sandy??

I don't see anything wrong with the suggestion that we get a good 'singing section' of the crowd together. In fact it's a good idea. No-one is forcing anyone to join in. Surely it can only be a good idea to get more singing going at matches ?!! Oh and good for Tazzy for trying to get an atmosphere going even if he didn't succeed.

Get some food beforehand, either at home or at Willbutts Lane chippy, or even from the snack bar in the TDS near to the club shop, the you won't need to bother queuing at half-time.

There are always solutions if you are prepared to look for them.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

I have opinions of my own -- strong opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.

In over 20 years of watching football I have never had any issues with stewards.

If we had an non-stop atmosphere it might just give the players about of encouragement on the pitch i think chesterfield away should be repeated again on Tuesday into what we should be doing at home like that non-stop John Coleman's Barmy Army so what if some supporters don't like singing that's what cricket is there for no offense to any of our non-singing tory fans and non-singers in general

who tired of being in a graveyard at home that's the question???

As a steward i love the singing in the middle of the sandy and as long as it does not get racialist or indecent i have no problem at all. Long may the singing continue a few more songs than the usual Da yul please ;-)
