In a relatively poor game, we created enough chances to win but didn't take one. Generally felt that Sunderland were there for the taking and that we needed to play with more pace and urgency in our passing. Too often, passes were sideways or backwards and just too safe. When we added Sinclair's pace the chances started to come - Willock should have scored the pull back from Armstrong.

Overall, as none of our relegation rivals won, it's a point gained but frustrating that it wasn't more.

Definitely could have won this against a weak Sunderland team who offered little threat. Dykes was especially ineffective and after his recent outings as a midfielder seems to have completely forgotten that he's meant to score goals. But although we did create chances apart from Willock's near the end they weren't gilt edged.
We gave the ball away far too often when under little pressure and at times we looked over confident. I hope no one is thinking we're doing enough to be safe. Although our form under Marti is solidly mid-table it wouldn't take much for it all to go pear shaped.
No one deserved a MotM award but JCS was impressive at the back although he didn't have a lot to deal with. Armstrong good when he came on and got behind the defence on 4 (I think) occasions. For a couple of chances he ended up too wide to really threaten the keeper but his square ball for Willock should have been buried.
