WTF? Fans forum 23:16 - Sep 12 with 12968 viewsSwanzay

Lets face facts there has been no mention of tonights fans forum on here, normally this would create a 5 pager on the original planets swans.
Darran can go on all day about how many hits etc this web site has had, this fans network aint working from a fans perspective no matter how he dresses it up!
There a lots of fans who have either stopped posting on here on migrated to other Swans related websites.
We are premier league we should be buzzing with posts on here, but some threads on the front page are 2/3 days old.
Full respect to Phil S for try to change, but this change hasn't worked, thats the reality!

Very good forum I thought. Much more interesting second half of the event for me at least as not one who's terribly interested in fluffing the players.

Some thoughts ive written elsewhere ...

Alternate ticket systems being assessed with a view to move to membership cards where tickets can be preloaded online and automatic turnstyles. I'll invoice you for that idea Dineen seeing as I've been banging on about it for years on yur .

Club looking at rolling out 20 free buses for all away games. Not great for exiles but think a wonderful idea and might turn me into a bus winker. HJ seemed quite geniune in asking whether anyone had any good ideas to benefit fans and encourage away travel.

Don't expect ticket prices to go down for cup games or league. Blame laid at VAT and Stadco.

Ticket office to be expanded. About time.

Planning for stadium expansion in within 3 months. Phased approach as expected, starting in summer. I've heard this before somewhere...

Beer under review at end of next season. No real answers about inability to buy a pint in East Stand.

Catering longer lead time. They seem under impression its actually a really good arrangement. Hmm.

Stadium naming rights got 2 years left to run. LD in charge of negotiations.

Don't expect us to spend big again next year. HJ very blunt about that being a one off.

Trundle got called fat, by a slightly more rotund Trust chair who shall remain nameless.

Rangel has 2 kids he doesn't know about.

Laudrup is smarter than most if not all of our fans.

Some of our fans need to shut the fook up about our bloody neighbours. They'll be a distraction all season but luckily not to the club.

I've probably forgotten lots of stuff. As I didn't expect to make it today I asked HC about the future dividend stuff last week on Twitter and he said nothing agreed for future yet so didn't labour the point.

They know perfectly well they won't fill 20 pop and crisp buses for most games, even if they're free. Most sane people don't want to travel that way

I rarely used the bus. I did for Arsenal last season and had a relaxed day out. And, if it wad free, I could probably afford to travel more often again.
But I'm not interested in the day out on the lash any more. I don't drink much now. If I can have 2/3 pints before the game, I'm more than happy.
Stadium expansion has to happen, did they say what to do if you had any ideas re contacting them? I have a couple. Meant to go last night and clean forgot.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Or maybe I should sign up to twitter and contact Leigh Dineen?

I'll start by annoying Mr Sumbler I think. See what he makes of my (very basic) ideas?
They are so simple I'm suprised they haven't been done already.

Or maybe, if people can be trusted to post intelligently, we can have a thread on it?
I know the usual suspects can't help themselves though, and will post tripe on it

Well aye, bang them up. The more ideas the better. HJ said they wanted ideas so the only way to be held accountable is to see whether they listen!

Why do people ask such stupid questions at these events. Some people actually believe they now how to set up the team and tactics better than the manager.

I got the impression re ticketing system that the club do not pay for the system but the company running the system take the £1.50 for supplying the service to the club. The club make money on the ticket price itself.

One good point that HJ mentioned that people may not consider is that for every ticket sold the 20% vat element has to be taken out to give to the vat man.

That'a a bit of a random comment about Rangel! What's that all about, then? Did some woman in the audience stand up and name and shame him?

The club signed the deal. Dineen admitted than and didn't hide behind tickets.com .... something I've been calling for him to do on various issues for some time, so fair play for doing so. Impression given was that this would not be an issue with smart card system going forward. We shall see and no doubt many of us will be paying close attention.

Thought the VAT thing was a bit of a red herring personally. I don't think we'll sell 10k at £25 but think we'd sell out at a tenner. That's almost the same money coming in there. The avoidance on reducing ticket prices was my major disappointment last night.

Send them on although as with ideas the wider they get discussed the better so happy for them to be discussed on here

Reference no comments on here about the forum, the fact it was still going on at 10.15 (usuaully over by 9pm) will have a factor in it - was 11.15 when I got in

So in that hour between the forum ending and you getting home you didn't have a couple of minutes to give Swanzay a ring to let him know the news?

Instead of paying for 20 buses y not give everyone money off the away tickets instead same thing end day they would have pay buses y not use that money to give discounts then everyone benefits not just people in Swansea

That' wouldn't be the headline grabber that paying for the buses would be though, something the club seem far more interested in

I haven't been with FOSCFA since late 90s but would consider going down this route again if the travel was free.

There are games where I would rather make my own way but for the less attractive locations and fixtures I'd def give it a go.

I've been to the last two Wembley trips on the Pop and Crisps Express. Not a bad word to say about them. Not something I'd do every week mind you, I like a beer with my football generally.
