Is it only people off forums who don't attend games that lay into him continuously ?
The fans in the stadium were fully behind him.

You're right.

I have praised and criticised Martin AND I go to the games, it's all good as long as it's fair. Yesterday was a much better performance though there were still some times when our keep the ball at all costs mantra caused us problems.

PS, I didn't hear any booing either. I did see an argument kick off and ended with somebody being removed for an apparent racist remark (East upper, block 10) when the players kneeled. That was the only negative thing I heard from the crowd.

Pato got a good reception fro me too, as I keep on saying, in the stadium support the team then come on here to have a moan.

I was in the centre of the East and there were a few boos but mostly applause and some abstained when Pato's name was read just before kick off.
For the record I applauded as one who had wanted him back in the team since all that sorry mess began

Being critical is fine, perfectly normal - we have been awful all season.

It’s not been an accident we were 19th this time yesterday. We have been 19th largely due to the things I’m raising.

I won’t ever be happy and positive for the sake of it and if there are issues to be discussed that some may find negative it really doesn’t bother me.

I’m glad you have walked back your accusation towards me, I can’t speak on behalf of others but I feel entirely justified by every comment I’ve made and they don’t change after a solitary win, as I’m sure your positivity doesn’t wane after a solitary defeat?

Believe me after an 18 hour day going to Hull, followed by the ups and downs of transfer day then the turgid display against Luton , I was not a happy bunny and was vowing not to go away again this season.
By Thursday I was back to my glass half full attitude re Swans and predicting a win.
Just turned 60 and into the Victor Meldrew persona is my excuse 🤣🤣

You will have idiots at the game aswell as you do here who will just have a moan and a groan, the guys on here do take it to another level but they won't have the same feel or view as they would if they were at the game.

Each to their own but its clear at games that the vast majority are understanding and supportive of Martin and what he is doing.

I would be more annoyed if I was at the game and we were being set up in a way that is clearly to the detriment of the result.

Just a fact.

The boos at the end of the Luton game seemed absolutely clear. As did the ones after Forest, of those that had bothered to stay that is.

He’s allowed to though. The amount of people who moaned on here last year when we were 4th is testament to that.

The irony is the ones claiming to be so shocked by people who are moaning about being 19th (?!), were the very ones moaning last year at every single opportunity when we were 4th.

As you can tell, I don’t buy this nonsense for a second and these trolling threads intentionally designed to divide with mistruths and exaggerations every time we get a result are getting more and more predictable, sadly.

Of course he has paid his money and is allowed to moan.
I did my fair amount of moaning at Hull and against Luton.
Gets a bit wearing when we are.winning or playing well or even as we were yesterday putting up a tremendous rearguard action.
No pleasing some I guess ?

Exactly.

You moaned against Hull and Luton because we were awful, you probably cheered yesterday and against WBA - that’s what supporters do. That’s what the posters on here did too, no different.

Except on here we can explain why we are moaning in depth, discuss ways how that can be solved and share views.

Not sure why people are so offended by it. Pretending those at the game don’t show their displeasure when we play badly is a myth.

Using the atmosphere in games we win to suggest people at the stadium don’t show their displeasure, while ignoring recent examples of losses where the crowd have been openly booing is an incredibly dishonest position.

In my opinion the manager is doing a fine job. All this sack the manager recently has come from a tiny minority. Give him time, after all the greatest manager British football has ever seen Alex Ferguson took over Manchester United in 1986 and didn’t win anything until 1990.

You can't seriously be comparing Fergusons 600+ game managerial career with Scottish league and Cup doubles, plus the Cup winners Cup for Aberdeen, with Russ' 13th place League 1 finish??
Ferguson had more than earned a Transition season

I am one of those no doubt you speak of....i do go to the ground.i attend matches and still see what i moan of
possession for possessions sake, playing players out of position,or not to their strengths.

As I said, there are a minority.

Some people enjoy moaning, some moaned in the Premier league and that was their choice.

There has definetly been a stick out for Martin from day one. It is what it is and ultimately its a view they are entitled to as much as the people on the other side of the line.... Always been an issue with people wanting to prove they are right and they work of facts when there is no answer to the question or debate.

Surely no one denied the booing took place after certain games ?
However it was certainly not all who had chosen to remain as was suggested, but just a small but noisy minority.

So how is that “all things Swans”? If my criticisms are justified and have explained and proved them in depth, then what’s the issue?

I haven’t mentioned Smith let alone boo him.

This is a very confusing thread.

I’m agreeing with you that some criticism was justified.

Great support for the team (for the manager? I'm really not sure about that) - the atmosphere was superb. I actually left the ground thinking that Martin was an even worse manager than I had realised - whatever was going through his head with his substitutions is beyond me. Still better to be a lucky manager than a good one -eh?

We were 1-0 up and down to 10 men.
He sent on players that he knew would wear hard hats for the cause.

Myself and my son left at the whistle. We were halfway back to the car (on Beaufort Road) and we could still hear fans in the stadium singing. "You've come a long way for feck all" it was. I assume it was in the stadium anyway, I suppose it could have been at the pinch point as fans came past the away end, where there was the handbags stuff with Sheff Utd.

Towards the end of the game, I hadn't heard booing BUT the whole stadium seemed to join in with a song to cheer the boys over the line. In the first half I could hear the Blackburn fans clearly, the home stands were quite quiet, it all changed though and in the second I hardly heard the away end.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?
