whats your experience of the police 11:11 - Mar 7 with 30670 views | libertine | recently I've had a bit of a negative image of the police, I believe they've got to messed up with political correctness, the reports I've made to them have involved race issues and they would not go near my complaints even insinuating that I was some sort of bigot. I don't think that they should go back to the 80's police force as they became Margarets private army, they loved her with the 10% pay rise they got. But I must say that when I really needed help as one of my kids went missing, the police behaved fantastically, efficient emphatic amazingly sharp, I felt safe in their hands. I've had a couple of bad experiences in the past with obnoxious plastics, who just wanted to have a bit of power. But the experience when they helped find my daughter completely6 puts thiings in perspective, it made me realise, what the hell would I have done if there were no police. whats your experience with the police?

Not important Paul. The problem is people making things up about the hard working police heroes. Apparently.

whats your experience of the police on 09:12 - Mar 9 with 1967 views | perchrockjack | At the time of Hillsborough, Police attitudes to football fans was confrontational, not surprising as many fans were so it was quid pro quo and the reason police stopped fans from escaping from the leppings was no doubt based on the (probable) result of a pitch invasion. Remember invasions like Millwall v Luton. Hillsboro radically irrevocably changed football policing. I was at a senior officer conference after the Taylor report and lets just say many Chief Constables ,previously disinterested on football matters, most certainly were from then as they would be under he scrutiny. I ll say no more. Regarding USA, Police is not the problem but the manifestation of a culture obsessed by and lined to the Gun. Basically good people but with a misguided love of weapons and the belief in lethal force as a first resort in some cases. Finally, those who are anti police by nature will never ever support anything they do. THAT is down to upbringing at home.

whats your experience of the police on 16:00 - Mar 9 with 1891 views | TheArtChappy | Went to a local pact meeting today due to a couple of problems in the neighbourhood. The psco was very good and are going to do things try to sort the problems out. Can't ask better than that.

whats your experience of the police on 13:51 - Mar 7 by twotimejack | To be a copper I think you should be whiter than white, I personally know 5 police officers and none of them are fit to do the job. |
I know five and all of them are sound and trustworthy people, one saved the life of a little girl in Bridgend and it wasn't reported in the news that day because people with negative views like negative views. Like the negative views on here. I do know one guy who detests the police, mind you he failed on three occasions to get in. There's a story In there somewhere. If you don't like the coppers, then move to Cuba and find out what its really like.

whats your experience of the police on 22:44 - Mar 7 by twotimejack | Ok fair point, but compared to being in the police force, I can think of hundreds of jobs that I would consider being more dangerous than being a copper. |
But not from personal experience which makes your view point pretty redundant.

whats your experience of the police on 10:01 - Mar 8 by twotimejack | And that is the only point I tried getting over last night, being A copper isn't exactly a dangerous job. |
And finally as an average seven officers are killed each year on duty, have a word with their families and try telling them it ain't a dangerous job. Have a heart ffs. [Post edited 10 Mar 2015 1:08]

whats your experience of the police on 09:34 - Mar 10 with 1775 views | libertine | so there maybe a correlation disrespect of the police = police disrespect same thing with teachers clergy solicitors bank managers people don't trust these profession's any longer. When I was a kid the headmaster was god and he behaved that way, his actions were trusted, now they are not trusted in the same way and parents argue with them about their childs behaviour, whereas years ago they would leave the school whilst smacking their child accepting what the headmaster said as gospel.

Ha ;-) I meant the coppers there tend to manage situations slightly differently to those in this country.

whats your experience of the police on 12:11 - Mar 10 with 1731 views | NeiltheTaylor | They have long represented the violent arm of the state; attracting working class bullies who are all too happy to lickspittle up to those who they consider their "betters" while failing to protect the common good. You only have to look on here to see how coppers generally love to suck up to perceived wealth and authority. 40% decent - 60% disgusting creatures.

I would say that if libertine and his cronies went to trash / demo against a local business they would end up beaten to the ground and getting five years in the cooler. Lovely country, lovely people etc ... But a very controlled environment. It's how they survive.

That's some quality statistical analysis you've plucked out of your own head there mate. It's enlightening to find out that my profession can be divided into 2 such separate categories. In my experience most coppers are driven to the job because they like to bang the right people up, and provide for their family. Most don't know who to vote for as we are seen as an easy target to hammer both financially and in the media and have no love of the government or authority. Where you've got that from I can only assume is the same place you got your statistics from...

It's hard to respect somebody who puts me into a certain catergory.. Without ever having a 'real' conversation with me.. Plus 'judge' and make wild accusations and assumptions without any 'real' knowledge about me.. If I stumbled into your house with a baseball cap, trackies, air Max trainers, unshaven face and spoke with an unfamiliar tone of the English language.. You'd put me in a 'catergory'.. But I'd also put you in a 'catergory'.. Bitter, nasty alcohol fuelled ex copper.. With clear self entitlement issues.. Lacks clear understanding of any rational output.. I understand your 'issues' perch.. You still grind your teeth I bet.. You're not the only copper who has gone this way..

Frankly, that latest post of garbage is quite illuminating. 60% DISGUSTING CREATURES eh. Well, there s a few on here and right now they ll be doing their own stats on the arsehole count on this site. One thing is clear. General public, no matter what they think, really has little idea of how police officers work, what makes them tick, why they do the feckn job the first place, or what the job entails. What job you do NEIL?

It's poor not because of it's system, but because of the American and western embargo on trading with Cuba. Sanctions, in other words!
