Harry Wilson 08:30 - Jul 4 with 8726 views | Thornburyswan | Sunday People reporting we are interested in a loan deal, Liverpool would like £15M+ but recognise that is unlikely & might be up for another loan to get some of his £60K pw covered - him sitting in the middle of the 3 in a 4-2-3-1 would look a decent set-up. PS not suggesting we’d cover the full £60K pw but we might go to £25/30K. [Post edited 4 Jul 2021 8:33]

Harry Wilson on 10:31 - Jul 4 by trampie | Harry Wilson imo is a superior player compared to Gibbs White, Wilson scores and creates, Gibbs White rarely scores. |
Gibbs White is a far more influential player than Wilson will ever be. Way too inconsistent. The only way I’d be happy with Wilson is if we got the two of them. (Highly unlikely I know)

You got them two the wrong way round, Wilson twice the player Gibbs White is, Gibbs White is the flaky one, perhaps Gibbs White will improve with age as he is young but at this point Wilson is the man compared to Gibbs White.

Harry Wilson on 11:24 - Jul 4 with 2191 views | jasper_T | Swansea fans are going to have a rose-tinted view of Gibbs-White because he got injured after one top performance very early in the season, and never got the chance to show whether Wolves fans' opinions of him were justified. He got 5 starts for Wolves after going back, despite their serious injury crisis and small squad. Not really the breakthrough season he was hoping for.

Far to hit and miss for me, that said he's the type of player that could very well suit us, considering where we are at the moment I don't think we can totally dismiss the idea.

You never really watched MGW then? Plenty of skill but more importantly a physical presence. We were unlucky losing him to injury so soon.

He doesn't score mun, we need players that score goals, that have an end product like Harry Wilson.

He might not have (only played 5 games for us but scored once and a couple of assists) but we should have enough up front not to keep relying on midfielders for goals. Of course everyone has to chip in ideally but we need a striker to hit 20-25 goals. That also requires a good midfield and a positive attacking mindset which we lacked sorely last season. Seems Wolves have signed another midfielder who may push him out on loan again.

I think Gibbs-White suits this team. We have no one who can pick the ball up on halfway and beat defenders, create space for others (Dhanda to an extent), put a tackle in and stand up for himself physically as well as pick a defence opening pass. Wilson is a very talented player, although he does sometimes drift out of games, he has that bit of class to see things half a second before other players and is a dead ball specialist. I agree he’d probably score more goals, but for me, Gibbs-White would bring us the cohesion our midfield is missing.
Harry Wilson on 17:17 - Jul 4 with 1652 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Wilson, on the face of it, has no prospect of coming to Swansea. 2 years on his deal left and on a whopping £60,000. Why would Liverpool loan him to a team that cannot buy him? a) Swansea could take him with an obligation to buy for sa £14m if Swansea are promoted. This is risky for Swansea and could end up with the "Priskin trap". Wilson does an ACL and Piroe and Joseph fire Swansea to promotion with Wilson a bit part player. Liverpool would get a sale out of the deal. However Swansea will not want to be paying £60k a week for a crocked Wilson. b) Liverpool hope Wilson can perform much better than last season in line with Brewsters numbers. 15 goals and 15 assists. This would convince someone to pay in excess of £15m. Swansea themselves if he is red hot.

b) All day long. Last season has done nothing to put Wilson in the shop window, a season with us and hopefully his stock value will rise like Brewsters a bonus for both clubs. Although if we could have one of the two I would prefer MGW.

Only 4 players in the Championship managed 20+ goals last season. 2 of the were at midtable sides. Watford went up automatically and their top scorer only managed 13.

So having a side geared to attacking and creating lots of chances for a good striker is now not so desirable? We tried the negative and defensive method last season and failed miserably.

No not as desirable as it once was, attacking football in England has not been a thing since Noah was a boy mind so don't get them mixed up with the rest of the World. Bielsa still plays attacking football with a centre forward.

Goals from midfield are important, 20+ a season strikers are rare and no great indicator of team success. McBurnie got 22 under Potter but no one else managed more than 5, and we finished 10th. Armstrong got 28 for Blackburn last season and they finished 15th. Watford spread 29 goals around three main men and avoided the playoffs (only conceding 30 in total must have helped). We've lost half of our 31 goal striker partnership, and have bought in two young strikers to try to fill that void (plus Cullen and Whittaker). A midfielder who will target double figures would be a great asset and take pressure off Lowe as there are no guarantees he will repeat his haul again.
