| Forum Thread | Zan Celar …time for a re- think? at 19:21 27 Oct 2024
By management and by us fans. It’s really easy..and maybe necessary..to allot him with the whipping boy role. I mean, we’ve got to find someone to blame..it’s human nature. However, seems to me that he has an important role to play. Having checked the stats, he’s hardly had much chance to show what he could do. And isn’t much worse than many others. He has shown ability to score plenty of goals at previous clubs. Get him used to this league, play to his strengths and maybe there is a player there. To be honest, we need him to be and there’s not much choice is there? ( I’ll get my coat!) |

For Development squad at Colchester. Result isn’t even on our site. Was a 1-1 draw. |

About to play. Interesting team. Varane plays ( how does that work??). Also Saloman back in goal, and Kolli plays. |

Thank goodness there wasn’t any! |

Lost 6-0 this afternoon. Precious little coverage, but then we are rather busy today . Looks like several regulars from that group will be involved this evening…even if only on the bench. Should be interesting. |
| Forum Thread | Cambridge..stick or twist? at 13:40 11 Aug 2024
So the usual cup dilemma..how to avoid the inevitable embarrassment. However, maybe this time there are different priorities. Do we stick with what is currently, hopefully, the basis of a first team…or do we do the usual and field an odd job bunch of misfits? To be honest, that’s pretty much what Saturday’s lot felt like. |

According to the BBC he’s in! Excellent for us but how much do we get if he starts? ( which surely will happen in a pre tournament game) |
| Forum Thread | Blessing in disguise? at 20:15 6 Apr 2024
Admit it..a lot of us thought we were already paddling in the Med. maybe I’m straw gasping but…. It could well be that a team that’s already assuming seasons over ( Swans anyone ?) finds themselves dropping at the last moment as it’s too late to recover. That won’t be us now. Every game is massive still but wouldn’t have felt that way with a different result today. Hope I’m right. |
| Forum Thread | Now for a win at Brizzle! at 08:57 15 Feb 2024
So, the morning after, let’s just take stock. Stoke were ( relatively) inspired and upped their game. We looked decent early on, long standing issues were clear..eg Sinclair’s pace and strength ( neither he or the rest know how to exploit it) but this does create uncertainty which can work. Plus poor set pieces and crossing. However, we have new players who can greatly improve this when bedded in. Yesterday was a steep learning curve.. I hope! So to Saturday, if we had won yesterday what normally would happen after a terrific performance? Inexplicable rubbish! And I’m going on Saturday.. so maybe, just, maybe we will do the other QPR thing and play well? At least we’ll get a decent game and hope can re-kindle ( before we mess up v Rotherham of course.) |
| Forum Thread | Ossie off? at 16:27 28 Jan 2024
Amidst all the speculation on here one thing that does look nailed on is a move for our Sierra Leone talisman. Unlike several others he does look up to Football league standard and has been a loyal squad player. Deserves a good one. Also noticed Archer back on the subs bench so presumably another loan for Walsh next week? |

Were 3-1 down with little time left and drew 3-3. Anyone there who can flesh out the report that just came up on the official site? |
| Forum Thread | hope springs eternal? at 18:34 7 Jan 2024
In the rather chilly light of day, I’ve had the chance to reflect a bit. Yes, I know we have got used to abject misery and the frustration on here is understandable - though I think some of the exchanges are inappropriate and unnecessary. However How about this for another way of looking at things? Bournemouth are a very good side with a strong squad on the back of a series of very good results in the Premier League. They are realistic contenders in this competition. We were missing six, arguably seven players who would be in many of our best, starting 11s. The back four had never played together before yet for half the game we easily matched strong opposition. If , and it’s a big if, We can somehow build on the positive aspects of our play and get some control over our set pieces and theirs there’s still genuine hope till the end of January anyway. I’ll get my coat. |

Just checked out highlights again. The speed of his run leading to second goal speaks bundles. Transformed mentally and physically. Long may it last! |
| Forum Thread | Gareth is the main issue here at 11:03 25 Oct 2023
Sorry to disagree with those who have highlighted bad player attitude as a factor. For me, the main issue is the tactics employed. From what I saw yesterday the commitment was there, but to a style of play that admitted likely defeat before we began. About a year ago we had spells where we could play teams off the park with many of the same players. Now whenever we get the ball we return it at length and wait for the next wave to hit. Awful to watch and awful to have to play. But they do it, and effectively for half the game. When something inevitability goes wrong we fall apart. Sorry, this is down to the management. |
| Forum Thread | “There’s no such thing as luck” at 09:22 1 Oct 2023
I’m quoting the late great Keith Sanderson on that, but Gary Player voiced a similar line, something like “the more I practice the luckier I get “ Ok we didn’t get the rub of the green yesterday, their first goal offside, deflections, stonewall penalty ( in normal time anyway). However, the more times you get in a position to get a lucky bounce, hey presto ! Our record breaking dismal home form is nothing to do with luck or referees. It’s about time the club woke up. |

Quite something. Potentially brilliant for him and the club. |
