Jake Buxton has inked a new three-year deal with Derby County: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28094344 With youngsters Hendrick and Forsyth now on new improved contracts and the experienced Naylor & Whitbread retained in the ranks on new deals, the squad stability is being reinforced. Fans are looking to some 'marquee' additions though, to replace Wisdom and Bamford - and there remains that all-important question: can Derby prise George Thorne away from WBA? Discuss! |

| Forum Thread | The Quad 'Pride & Passion' Exhibition launch with Kev Moore & Shaun Barker at 14:11 5 Jun 2014
Today sees the launch of The Quad's summer season of football - it's free and commences at 6.30 pm: http://www.derbyquad.co.uk/exhibition/season-football-launch The DCFC Collection (the Rams' heritage trust) is exhibiting many rare images and the gallery walls are adorned with classic photos from Derby's great history. Spain-based rock muso and Derby lad Kev Moore will be playing a set of Rams songs and club skipper Shaun Barker is putting on a DJ set during the evening! There will be other DCFC heritage displays and exclusive Kev Moore and Rams-related merch on offer. The exhibition and a string of football talks runs through until early September - sure to be of interest to Rams fans of all ages. Seems like a great antidote to the 'Wembley blues' - and a good footy diversion whilst we wait England's next glorious capitulation in the World Cup! |
| Forum Thread | George is a Thorne in West Brom's side! at 11:03 3 Jun 2014
Though it's in the Mirror, there's an outspoken item quoting midfielder George Thorne and the ultimatum that he has thrown at his parent club West Bromwich Albion: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/george-thorne-delivers-west-brom-363 George declares that he's unwilling to be a bench-warmer and has been under-used and under-rated at WBA - and would see a move to Derby as a good option. I hope it happens; he would be the fulcrum of the Rams' team next season and would of course be an automatic pick for Steve Mac. Other clubs - including those in the Prem - will eye George but he insists he won't be happy moving just to be a squad player somewhere else. Your time has come, George....sign on the dotted line for DCFC! |

| Forum Thread | Roy Mac Backs DT's "Roar On The Rams" Campaign at 10:56 22 Apr 2014
Good timing, Roy! The legendary 'other' Mac - Derby's greatest-ever centre-half - Roy McFarland, is backing the Derby Telegraph's "Roar On The Rams" campaign, and flashing a copy of his excellent and long-awaited biography, as Derby's play-off bandwagon gathers momentum: http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/Derby-County-legend-Roy-McFarland-backs-Roar-Ram Maybe some of the stay-away fans will abandon their Sky boxes and help to fill up the stadium for the Rams' final home game vs. Watford on Saturday? Then another nail-biting two-leg play-off semi-final awaits Derby... Mac is still in fine form, as we saw at the very enjoyable Nunsfield Social Club event on Good Friday, where a big crowd of Rams fans watched Derby's win at Doncaster on the big screen with Roy, Roger Davies, Archie Gemmill and guest speaker ex-Wolves' Steve Daley (who was a real hoot!) The lively football forum after the game went on until midnight and it was a great start to the Easter break. We'll look forward to more events at Nunsfield, with regular forums and hopefully, some big-screen games featuring Derby County in the Premier League! |
| Forum Thread | Doncaster Away - Derby TV Live event/forum with Roy Mac, Davies & Gemmill! at 14:34 14 Apr 2014

| Forum Thread | Cellino Disqualified from Leeds United Takeover at 13:04 24 Mar 2014
It's good news week! After arch-rivals Nothingham Florist sacked the loveable gump Billy Davies and his trailing yes-men, the Football League have denied tax-dodger Massimo Cellino the right to take over Leeds United! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26717044 Quite where that leaves the Hell-and Road mob is anyone's guess, as the Italian was bailing out United financially and has reportedly stumped up £6m already. Perhaps he'll want his money back pronto? Looks like DirtyLeeds could be 'Living The Nightmare' all over again...! Good job that the Kuwaiti dunce at Forest has already snapped up Warnock to replace Wee Billy, before McDermott has had enough and walks out on Leeds... Can't see Warnock working his muse again at Nothingham. [Post edited 24 Mar 2014 13:05]
