| Forum Thread | Back 4? at 17:27 18 Feb 2023
I appreciate it was working earlier in the season but I am absolutely baffled as to why we haven’t reverted to a back 3. One of the first things good managers tend to do is shore up the back line. We look pretty toothless going forward and without Chair and Willock working in tandom have looked goal shy for over 2 years. Over the past 5 years, probably longer, we have looked far more comfortable with 3 at the back than playing a back 4. Given our position, inability to keep clean sheets etc I would have thought changing to a back 3 with wing backs would have at least helped reduce the tide of goals against. We just look so easy to play though |
| Forum Thread | Couple of shirts going spare at 22:07 2 Jan 2022
I’m having a bit of a clear out out and wondered if anyone would like a home shirt from 2011/12 or 2015/16 (I think). The Malaysia airways Prem shirt is a small and the Royal Panda long sleeve is medium. No charge just seems such an absolute waste to throw them away. Please DM me is you are interested Cheers |
| Forum Thread | Running the London Marathon for Children with Cancer at 22:11 8 Sep 2021
Hi all In just over three weeks time I will be running the London Marathon raising money for Children with Cancer. The charity has been our firms annual charity for the past 3 years and just under 2 years ago they spoke at our Annual Conference. Listening to the speaker discuss the roots of the charity (the personal experiences of the founder led to him to start it in a similar manner to Mark Prince) and what they do for the families of children with cancer and the research they perform really hit a cord. As a father for 2 small children at the time (now 3!!), I had a moment of madness when they referred to their charity marathon places and spoke to our marketing team about taking one. That was 22 months ago and the world has somewhat changed since. My original training ended pretty immediately when I went down with Covid in March 2020 and subsequently I have had numerous small running injuries but I’m now on the final push on what I thought was going to be a four month training programme! I ran my only marathon back in 2009 and 12 years later, having recently hit my 40s I fear it’s going to be even harder this time round. If you are able and would like to sponsor me - it’s a wonderful cause - please see my Virgin Money Giving page below: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-display/showROFundraiserPage?userUrl This is also childhood cancer awareness month and you can read more about that and what this fantastic charity does on their website at the link below: https://www.childrenwithcancer.org.uk/about-us/childhood-cancer-awareness-month/ Many thanks for reading Dan |

| Forum Thread | U18 retained list at 22:57 21 May 2021
Maybe a Spackman but the U18 retained and released list came out today and is showing on the app. Looks like only 11 had deals up and unfortunately the last Eze has left the building as Chimaechi Eze is on the released list. |
| Forum Thread | We’ve got our Rangers (song) back...... at 19:43 11 Jan 2021
Bear with me........the original Man City song was ‘Kolo, Kolo, Kolo, Kolo, Kolo, Kolo, Kolo Toure, Yaya, Yaya Yaya, Yaya, Yaya, Yaya, Yaya Toure.....which we took on and developed into Charlie Austin and Nico K.....and within 24 hours it’s turned out that we can legitimately merge the two and have Charlie Austin and Yaya Toure...... |
| Forum Thread | Relegation doom and gloom at 20:55 13 Aug 2018
Having not as yet seen us play this season I clearly can’t comment first hand on performances however the overwhelming doom and gloom over the past 10 days is staggering. I get that we have been pretty poor, lacked much of a goal threat, had the same sort of issues Olly had with half time changes etc but are we really a relegation team? Yes I hear some people cry, probably those same people who kept on crying out for Olly to be sacked or for Fernandes to sell up etc (better the devil you know and all that) but on what basis? Our team is weak at the back and can’t score goals? Our team is physically weak and is getting bullied, our team is full of nice lads who can’t do the dark arts as well as other teams? Okay, so all of those may or may not be true over a 46 game season, but and this is the crucial part, where did we finish last year and the season before that? Safe of relegation, never anywhere near the relegation zone in fact, even two years ago when we went through two horrendous loosing spells we didn’t get anywhere hear it. So if those sides stayed up fairly comfortably and last year certainly was comfortable, is our team any weaker than then? Yes I hear some cry look at who we have lost, well yes, Ned is a huge loss both on and off the pitch, by Leinster has, in his short QPR career done very well by all accounts. Smithies, clearly an absolutely class keeper, but equally we have two keepers that all our managers have rated extremely highly. Whilst Ingram’s distribution has been pretty poor so far is he really the reason we are terrified of league 1? Perhaps the elisive Jack Robinson, missing for 3 years and then plays pretty well for the best part of half a season, much of which was covering the injured Ned? James Perch, the man whom regularly tried, in Northern’a words to ‘kill a man to death’ in his attempts at tackling and was generally pretty woeful at right back? Or the beloved Jamie Mackie whom despite being an absolute QPR hero, had a failrly minimal impact over the past 12 months. Compare the losses with the incomings, this time a year ago we had barely even loaned Eze out to league 2, nor had we seen anything from Paul Smyth, Darnell Furlong was a sub at best, Osayi-Samuel was barely in the squad. These players are an improvement to the squad and with the exception of Mackie leaving I cannot thing of a single other attacking player that we have lost. In which case this shot shy team of nailed on relegation candidates are in fact a new Number 10 Messiah (tongue firmly in cheek) and our most recent Norhern Irish international better than we were a year ago. I seem to recall us scoring goals last year..... So if my assessment of the squad is right, loaning a bit of experience, perhaps a Rangel, a CB and a striker and we will in fact have a squad that is potentially far stronger than last year. So I really really don’t see the need for the massive overreaction to loosing a couple of games. |

| Forum Thread | Season ticket renewal at 18:13 25 Jul 2017
Has anyone else like me managed to miss the renewal deadline and tried to renew through the box office? It was ridiculous today. Essentially having tried to navigate the new website and the personalised season ticket page it was clear that I had to call up and couldn't find the non loyalty window price anywhere. I spoke to a guy at the box office who informed me that to renew now would be £585 or so with the booking fee. I was somewhat taken aback as I sit in the R block of Ellerslie and to find my client ref number had found the renewal confirmation emails from last year and the year before and politely asked the guy how that could be correct when 2015 (post relegation with hopes of bouncing back) it was £450 and now it could be £585!?!? Apparently once I missed the loyalty window there was a significant price increase. Just to be clear the prices listed for existing season ticket holders in the loyalty window was £465 and for a new season ticket holder was £499. Now I get they made it clear that early renewal would be rewarded and there would be an increase etc but out of principal I'm not going to pay £85 more than someone who has never had a season ticket and happens to buy on 31 May when I have been a season ticket for 20 of the past 23 years or something daft. I cannot see the current prices listed anywhere and wondered if anyone else had the same experience. I fully appreciate I could have renewed on 31 May but I happened to be absolutely manic at work for a few months and to be frank QPR was the last thing on my mind after the season we had. Now I live in Hertfordshire and have a young family and commute into london, the desire to keep coming back year after year starts to wane. So today the club have guaranteed less revenue as I'm not going to make more than 15 games and I won't automatically renew my season ticket next year etc etc. Sorry for the essay just feel somewhat shortsighted if the club. |
| Forum Thread | Mid table team.... at 00:30 5 Nov 2015
.... I just don't buy that and that is why I'm delighted we have made the decision to sack Ramsey. A lot of people, Northern included have suggested that we just aren't good enough but looking through the squad it's ridiculous that we aren't better. Unless I'm mistaken Austin and Phillips would have gone to prem sides had we not played hard ball in the summer. So too Fer had he not failed a medical. Green was too greedy for the Hammers. Sandro was injured and illegal but is now at least back to being able to work here. Chery has been in the Durch squad in the past year, Luengo a Ballon Dor nominee, Angella and Tozer won the Championship with Watford and most people are pleasantly surprised about Hall and JET. So just to be clear, there are 10 or so teams in the Chump that can run through their squads and see such quality? I am not saying they are all playing well or the the team is performing but just run through the team and really consider if, lets say, Sheffield Wednesday or Preston really have players that are genuinely just as good. If the answer is no or no but the players aren't performing......then the Manager isn't doing his job. If they are bad apples and won't play then that was what the clear out in the summer was for. Although we apparently gambled on Austin and Phillips and perhaps couldn't get rid of Sandro most of the rest, he signed or wanted. Luengo and Chery cost the thick end of £5m on top of Angella and Tozer. If this team, Ramsey's team is failing it is his fault and he had to go. Let's hope Sherwood doesn't arrive. Pearson may be a good shout but he really did seem a bit unhinged last year despite the results - almost like Mourinho does now.... But I'm sure the zero interview process will work a treat!! | Forum Thread | New record? at 17:26 7 Feb 2015
Amongst all the doom and gloom surely we now hold an unbeatable prem record.....first team to bring on three Chilian subs?? Absolutely gutted after that. How Caulker can't find a teammate 8 yards away continuously mistifies me!! How Zarate wasn't getting on the pitch under Harry is mystifying too. He's not Messi but I'd like to be as unfit as him! |

Just trying to whittle away the half time eternity and saw this on the BBC website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27338126 Surprising for two people to settle an independently apologise to the other party!!! Says a lot about an ego that appears to require someone to apologise publicly!!! |
| Forum Thread | Viagogo at 16:38 2 Aug 2013
Why the f*** do the club make a song and dance about being able to resell tickets on Viagogo and then allow the first game not to go on sale. Ridiculous - they have had months to set it up!! Pi55ed off as For the first time in around 5 months I'm actually looking forward to going tomorrow and I'm going to a wedding!!!!! |

Apologies if already covered - looked but couldn't see one on potential players from the prem released list. Appreciate that most of them have been released for good reason and we should probably halve out squad before looking to add but two players caught my eye - Bostock as Jerome Thomas. No idea if injuries or bad attitudes have hit these guys but Thomas always looks a good player when I've seen him and Bostock is still only 21. Are they crocked of worth a look at in pre season? |
| Forum Thread | Team spirit at 23:59 31 Jan 2013
Now that the window is shut I'm not quite sure what to make of it all. Samba and Remy are clearly excellent but very expensive signings and the others are okay but not going to massively improve what we have. The thing that really concerns me is how the squad knit together. If the rumours are remotely accurate, Diakite was touted all over France, Mackie was offered to Stoke and DJ will be gone when the loan market opens. Couple that with the fact that a few players will know Harry tried to replace them in the widow (eg Derry & Park) and I'm a little worried that the spirit shown this month by the first team will be damaged by a raft of new players coming in again. Hill & Derry must just sit in the dressing room and gently shake their heads at it all! I suppose moving a number of players who were unhappy out on loan, like Anton and Cisse may help heal certain fractions but Redknapp has a busy day ahead tomorrow to get us ready for Norwich. He may not be start but I'd love to see Holt not bully our defence AGAIN on Saturday. If they both play, I'd love to see Samba throwing him around instead!!! |

Was going to get a Spurs ticket but as I'm off on holiday on Weds thought I may need to work the weekend. So despite logging in and adding a ticket to the basket I ultimately cancelled and thought I'd watch on TV. Fast forward a week, I buy an Arsenal ticket only to then be hit with two things -1) the bloody Spurs game isn't on TV (why the hell is it 4 pm and not a 3 pm kickoff !!!??) 2) I had organised to go and see my mate in Souhampton the weekend of the Arsenal game!!! I can't make Reading because I'm on holiday and also miss the West Ham game....and I'd make the Reading game if it was Tuesday which it isn't, only cos of Spurs moving to Sunday. Bastardos.....
