Adel with Rrrrrs was 11 or 12 years back. Game has moved on. Virtually all players have to track back and avoid losing possession, even in the opposition's half, as many teams break with great speed in the 'modern game'.
I hope hes on the pitch for QPR ASAP - we need his creativity and sorry - we don't need him to be amazing defensively - think back to Taarabt....
He’s not one hundredth of the player Taraabt was, and apart from a few decent crosses has shown nothing to suggest he’s worthy of a place in the team or even on the bench with the current options we have. The boy has lots to prove and should be doing that on a League One loan rather than not playing anywhere at all.
Is it tomorrow that squad lists have to be submitted and confirmed? It will be interesting to see if Kolli makes the first team squad, particularly as being 19 he doesn't take up a place in the maximum of 25 players counted.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn’t his father write a hugely emotional tweet when RK made his debut, which caused many of us, me included, to post how this was all wonderful. A year on, it seems not.
Given where Eze is now, Tuesday should have been an advertisement of how QPR can help you and let you decide: Do you want to potentially be a baller or a Bowler?

If all this stuff about his Father and posting on social media is true then I suggest to kick him out of the Club asap....he is poison. We don't need it here.
And by the way, he isn't that good and has proved absolutely nothing.

Feels like a shame it’s obviously gone toxic in a way none of us are privy to, but I don’t get the idea that Kolli has shown that he’s the new Eze or whatever. When?
He’s put in a few good crosses, gamely acted as a pointless target man in the Ainsworth era, and sported one of the best barnets of all time, but he needs a wake up call if he thinks he’s set the world on fire.

Not trying to bang the drum here, but this thread has continued without any factual basis or evidence that he thinks he is billy big boots or has a bad attitude.
Given we really have no idea, perhaps it might be best to wait and see rather than pile on?

I desperately want him to succeed - why would anyone who claims to support QPR and enjoy watching football being played the right way not want such a talented player to succeed at QPR, but I totally agree with this post - *if* there is a hint of giving it the nutty whallops before he either has the right to give it the nutty whallops, then I’m sorry I’m out. Self entitled gen z.

Yeah, Adel would struggle to get into a championship team these days.

I think Adel gradually adapted his game. He became a deep lying midfield player in his Benfica days. He could always tackle when he wanted to and must have eventually learnt to work harder to hold down a first team place in Portugal.

Err no. You had to track back in those days too. You had to track back as far as I can remember from the 80's onwards. In the old 4-4-2 system which most teams played in the 80's, wingers would get subbed off for not helping out the fullbacks.
George Graham blasted Merson and Rocky for Arsenal if they did not track back so, no classy winger was safe. Adams would hammer the rest of his teammates if they did not get back and defend. There is a well-documented case where Arsenal won a game 4-1, and the Arsenal defence stayed in the dressing room for an extra 20 minutes to have a big argument about why they conceded that one consolation goal!
Sinton used to track back so, no tracking back has been part of the game for 50+ years now.
Warnock surrounded Adel with Derry and Hill, proper cloggers who got stuck in and with tactical know-how. Such as Cook does for us now. Then he told them they were not allowed to pass to Adel in their own half or would be fined.
Warnock knew that would force Adel to be in the correct part of the pitch, the last third, where he could do the most damage as otherwise, he would not get the ball. Which as we know makes Adel very angry. No doubt at first, Adel complained to the others, "why do you not pass to me?" and they no doubt replaced "gaffer has told us not to pass to you in our own half or we are fined each time we do it".
This was supper clever by Warnock as if Adel complained to him, he could say "its not you, I love you, you know that Adel, your may fav player Adel, its the other players they are not as good as you and therefore will give the ball away and the oppo will score."
This way Adel who is an emotional basket case as know, didn't feel bad and actually felt good as Colins fav. Along with Warnock forcing him to play even if he played badly, ensures that he would look shite game after game unless he turned it on and played properly. It forced Adel to play his proper game. And its also why Warnock subbed him at 60 mins most games as he needed him fit for the next one and not strolling about assuming the game was won. Once the game was secure, off he came, replaced with another classic Warnock battler. This is all guessing on my part, but you can see how it worked out.
Back to the point, Adel did not need to run back as we had a team full of players who did that already. Adel did what many other players could not even do now, beat three players and put the ball in the back of the net. Or, as teams often feared, dribble into the box, get fouled and get a pen. Often teams stood off him as the oppo defence was really worried about giving away a pen. Very scared they were of that. Adel got you chances in the last third. Something QPR struggle with to this day.
Adel the best Adel that is, would get into any and all championship teams right now. That Adel is top-level prem quality, as he proved in that season for us. Remember top scorer and assists from ... midfield!

Don't disagree with what you are saying but now everyone needs to work hard without the ball and track back.
