Hull City v Swansea City : Match day thread 16:46 - Dec 16 with 10582 viewsModeratorC

I know what we will do, it’s the Saturday before Christmas so we’re going to give Swansea City fans a near 600 mile round trip for those from Swansea. Yes, just the eleven hours on the road and that’s if they hit no traffic jams on the weekend where more people are travelling around the country than at any time during the year.

What Nanty ,bless him, fails to understand that the more we think we know ,the less is the reality.
Question is ,who is 247. Is he a former star,a football legend, one is is always right .
I have the largest appendage on here ,by far . I know that to be true .

Sad Nanty is consigned OHL to the Forum in the sky ,when he knows OHL is the most perceptive and prescient of all. It was he who saw through RM first and everything he predicated about LW is coming true.
Just as well OHL, as well as being a wonderful man,is so modest and approachable
He’s already won an award on Phil’s site without even posting a word.
That really takes some doing

Merry Christmas

No. I only played at a very modest level and I’m not always right.

Think you might be being modest
I’m not one to boast really.
I was ok at football as a teen but better at rugby at 10 as it suited my temperament .
I was however a county squash player
I also made a few bob on two wheels

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

Not the vaguest bit interested in your views on football. I have more experience and knowledge at every level and every role within this sport than anyone on this forum, other than Jack247 who does understand the game I take most stuff with a bit of salt. I'm blocking you because you are clueless about this sport, which is a pity because I enjoy your views on non-football matters.

I would hazard a guess that is not true. Jackmanandboy would be a contender. You seem to have had a bad day.

As with others totally disappointed with the performance, don't usually post one off flippant comments during a game but that was poor, expected us to come back at them, even to score and even hoped we would go on to take the game but deep down knew we would try and play the clever game and get caught out as we ceded pitch position and got picked off.
We have played Leeds and Sunderland and shown when we need to we can score goals same as against Hull but we just don't seem to be able to back our attacking needs up without giving stupid goals away, even expected Fulton to be called back into the team to shore up the defence in the midfield but the marking was shocking Hull players in our 1/3 of the pitch stroking the ball around like a good football team with no challenges to upset their Rythym until Grimes needs to give a goal scoring chance of a free kick that Hull did very little with.
Hoped after the encouraging preformance previously the issues in the teams defensive set up would be resolved but totally dejected by that preformance.

Personally, upset but not angry, we will not turn 8 years of miss management around in 6 weeks. We will not go down we will not go up, although we are closer to the playoffs than the relegation zone. Hopefully we will make squad improvements in January and kick on next summer. Williams who knows, I would say that Colman who is closer to the situation than the rest of us can see what we can't and obviously I would back any decision he makes. I am more confident in the future than 3 months ago.

I am more confident bout the ownership but staying in this league won’t be easy
Recent results clearly show no club is nailed on relegation candidates

We play a putative one on Boxing Day

We are on a downward spiral and the coach seems rather helpless . He admits he didn’t know why we played as we did yesterday

I’d say that’s a cause for concern

The high press was awful yesterday it left big gaps in the middle because the midfield duo and the backs dropped of, which after the defeats against Leeds and Sunderland we wanted to a certain degree to try and get defensively strong but you still have to get you challenges in instead of making it so easy to play against, it was like the disastrous preformance against Wycombe all over again, the second half against Cardiff their midfield dropped which with our midfield not pushing on just left so much room for their runners.
Bad marking all day long chasing shadows.

There was a reason that Cooper eventually stopped playing two up top in a 4-4-2 and went to a 4-5-1 playing three in the middle to stop opposition's progression while having Bidewell and Roberts out wide to protect the full backs, the complaint then we were too defensive so in the play off final he opted for Lowe.
Why did Cooper have to play three in the middle because we were weak in the middle with just the two defensive midfielders. Martin struggled even when playing four in the middle but two of those were attacking midfielders for example Ntcham and Paterson which did not help out in the defensive element of the game leaving two defensive midfielders struggling to preform their duties as the wing backs pressed forward.
We had and have what for me were and are young players in Downes and Franco that each helped out in that department but both cannot do the job without a better player alongside them if you are going to two in the middle, the most critised player has been playing a lot better this season but yesterday was noticeably poor when put under pressure.
He wasn't the only one but has the problem since relegation been we are defensively weak playing two in the middle with the players we have available, is that why Key pushes into the middle and we looked more solid defensively with Ollie Cooper as a third midfielder but that affected our attacking play. With Cardiff change in formation Cooper pressed on and the rest of the midfield didn't so we ended again defensively weak with the two holding midfielders. Against Wycombe in the cup it was over run.

Just as well he didn’t disclose for what he was jailed
He didn’t seem that remorseful to me .
So would you be that “ honest” had you been sent to Prison
