I flew Air Wales to Newcastle around 2004 or so. in an old turboprop. It was before UK storms had been given names. The wind on that day s deserved a name for sure. I was terrified. One engine stopped over Gloucester and we had to return. A rough landing in cross winds at Newcastle too.

Many years ago I flew to Guernsey from Southampton in an old turbo prop, the weather was pretty windy and we seemed to rattle and sway all the way. As we approached Guernsey airport the pilot informed us that we could see a sister plane of the one we were on in a field from the left hand side of the plane having missed its approach a couple of days earlier!
