Hornets on Sunday 19:31 - Feb 24 with 302165 views | EllDale | They’re tweeting that their “matchday operations” are being restricted for the home game against Barrow on Sunday for reasons that they don’t want to divulge at the moment. The bottom line is that the crowd capacity is limited to 920 and there will be no cash admissions on the day. Wonder what that’s all about?

Hornets on Sunday on 12:48 - Mar 6 by TVOS1907 | You've missed the point. The thread has been hijacked by someone with an agenda, which James seemed to have missed, so his comment about the pitch would have been an open goal for the WUM. I too have no interest in rugby, never have and never will and while the pitch has clearly suffered from it in the past and may well do in the future, it was best kept out of this debate. An agenda? Feel free to correct anything I’ve said which isn’t true and not in the public domain in Rochdale.

You know full well what you're doing and so do we. How are details of the private wealth of individuals and details of agreements between the two clubs in the public domain? As you posted: "Wouldn't have a clue about the personal wealth of individuals in either business and not really interested. Also, "There are no accounts posted for Hornets so again not a clue." Must try harder. [Post edited 6 Mar 2022 13:40]

Hornets on Sunday on 12:51 - Mar 6 by D_Alien | Not at all rude, just plain speaking as we do in Rochdale I'll restate, Dale need to be seen to be supportive of their tenants (i don't mean in a financial way, but certainly in terms of morale) during a period when we're asking for both financial and moral support from the football world, and the wider world including administrators of the game and politicians. That includes local politicians, many of whom support Hornets If Hornets can't pay their way in terms of agreements set out following their reformation a couple of years back, my opinion is that Dale should do all they can to be supportive without incurring any financial disadvantage. That's the minimum i would expect |
This sums things up well. We cannot give individuals or organisations who will look for any sort of small opportunity to create division or unrest opportunities to do so. This could be football results or age old problems that some can’t let go. It’s been illustrated that when nonsensical statements are made with no facts to back them up, they have to be backtracked upon so there can be no reason to give actual ammunition to those seeking to cause issues. There is a responsibility on all involved to work towards positive solutions, if this is achieved it will be a further example of why we are held in such high regard as a football club.

13 Jan 2009, according to the Rochdale Hornets Wikipedia page… I also believe that inviting messrs Mazey & his co directors into the club in 2019 was to stave off admin for a 2nd time… [Post edited 6 Mar 2022 16:54]

I think all real Hornets fans know about the administrations, but for RG's benefit, here's a brief history recap. PHASE 1: THE ORIGINAL HORNETS 1906 to 2010. The proper Rochdale Hornets was founded in August 1906, before the football club. It won the Challenge Cup in 1922. As Super League came in the 1990's it limped along and in January 2009 went to administration. It was dissolved completely in April 2010. On dissolution, the administrators noted an expected shortfall to creditors of £628,041 which they filed following a meeting of creditors in May 2009. Rochdale Hornets Football Club Company Limited (registered company: 00089733) https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/00089733/fili PHASE 2: THE COOPERATIVE SOCIETY ROCHDALE HORNETS 2009 to 2020 Whilst all that was ongoing, in January 2009, Rochdale Hornets formed a new mutual society called "Rochdale Hornets Rugby Football League Club Society Limited" The last published set of accounts - to 30 November 2019 - showed that this has net liabilities of £140,551. All of the accounts are available at the link. Rochdale Hornets Football Club Company Limited (Society registration number: 30618R) https://mutuals.fca.org.uk/Search/Society/10758 PHASE 3a: THE CURRENT ROCHDALE HORNETS - COMPANY 1 2020 onwards On 10 March 2020, Rochdale Hornets Rugby Football League Club Limited was formed by five new individual shareholders: * Richard Heyes * Andrew Paul Mazey * Paul Andrew Ormerod * Anthony John Sheridan * Peter Leslie Smith This company then changes its name on 15 June 2020 to "Hornets Rugby League Club Limited" This company claims to be dormant and is worth £100. So since the current lease agreements came into effect and we took ownership of the asset there hasn’t been an administration or insolvency. Thank you for clearing that up. Now I’m not a betting man but on current form I’d say there would be a greater chance of us going into admin than them.

I presumed reference was being made to a recent admin or insolvency act that I hadn’t heard about but that’s been cleared up. I wasn’t aware the referee to admin was going back decades…….
