Norwich City v Swansea City : Mach day thread on 16:43 - Jan 25 by Dr_Winston | There's not a single player who Williams has made better (a strong case could be made for Bellamy having a more beneficial effect on Cullen) and an awful lot who he has made worse. You can see that we're clearly not playing to the strengths of some whilst others are being deliberately hamstrung by being used out of position. All in service so some idiotic process/system call it what you want. |
The team is low on confidence and plays as if it doesn't believe in Williams tactics and set up.As you point out players are going backwards not improving and that is a damning indictment of Williams and his coaching team. The squad is short of quality and depth but Williams and his tactics are not getting the best out of them.

Norwich City v Swansea City : Mach day thread on 16:52 - Jan 25 by HellesdonJack | I very rarely comment on matches unless I'm there in person, as TV coverage often doesn't give a complete picture, but today was surely beyond doubt in that respect. Anyone watching that could see a team with no direction, no cohension and a general air of wanting out. Going back to Parker again, I was looking forward to seeing his pace along the wing, but once the first pass back from him happened, my heart sank. I hope any potential incoming players (insert punchline here) have got a good sense of gallows humour and a high pain threshold. |
However,tv camera s get in close, so close, you can see their moles, spots and tats details . Look at Key,really look at him,his eyes, his body language . No need to be there to see a broken man If at a stadium, you can’t get as close as tv cameras and often ,you miss things, hell, many fook off to the burger bar or to get a warm bottle of pyss . What tv viewers are seeing is exactly what those at a stadium are seeing. We saw what those hardly travelling souls saw and they were insulted, every one of them Looking at Williams turns my stomach ,literally. He makes me feel like vomitting

Some of what you say is correct but you're still dependant on the cameraman and the director seeing what you'd like to see. But one thing we can all agree on , this is the worst period the Club and supporters have had to endure for a long time , it needs to be turned around and quickly others wise we will drop down and we all know how hard it was to get back to where we are now.

We went 26 games without a win under Martin, is it worse than that? If you take the last 4 years, it has been poor but not as bad as under Petty etc. It has been the worst period since 2003 because we are back to the days of worrying about finances and relegation. The football on display first half against Sheff Utd was good. But it's inconsistent. Williams needs to go. The "Swansea way" has to go. Amateurish running of the club needs to go. If the investors want to see some return the club needs a clear out.

Norwich City v Swansea City : Mach day thread on 17:22 - Jan 25 by majorraglan | I’ve just got home after being off line all afternoon and seen the score - shocking result. 🤬🤬🤬 |
I said to my neighbour it could be a hammering before kick off - 5 is in no way a urprise, as soon as we went 2-1 down the implosion was virtually guaranteed. They are not playing for him - but I’m upset they downed tools last week as they know how important that fixture is to us as fans. His position has been untenable ever since WBA tapped him up - now it’s looking like Coleman has been paralysed and can’t make the call. That’s very worrying | | | | Login to get fewer ads

What is starting to worry me is that our new owners have no idea what to do with williams. The longer that that dawdle, the worse it's going to get with him in charge.

Yes, it’s worse than that period under Martin. We went on a crazy run of conceding goals in injury time. We competed in most of the games. We’re going through the motions here and teams are stuffing us without having to put much effort in. The ‘Swansea Way’ doesn’t need to go, it needs to come back! We haven’t had it for over a decade.

Like most on here I would guess, I watch games live and on TV. For things like offsides and contentious fouls, obviously TV is better. For how individuals are playing and general patterns of play, there’s no comparison. Yes, this is one of those rare times pretty much everyone on here agrees. Maybe Vetchonian won’t. I don’t think ‘we’ can get him out. It’s past the point now where the club either can’t afford to sack him, or they will.

Coleman has everything to prove. He was much heralded for getting rid of Kaplan & Levein but has done nothing different to when they were in charge. His lack of knowledge & understanding of the game feels very much like it’s a case of the blind leading the blind. It’s time for leaders to show some leadership

I think it was Doc Winston who pointed out that the "Swansea way" as it has been presented in recent times is a fallacy. The Swansea way was never how football that we have been given these last 7 or 8 years was played. When we were called Swansealona our football had pace and purpose, we didn't fanny around at the back, when we needed to we cleared the ball, there was never an idea of possession at all costs as ot appeared under Martin. Times have been worse than they are right now BUT if something isn't done quickly then we may actually see a return to bad times that are somewhere close to 2003. From there, who knows?

Actually I agree we need to do something. Personally I don't think it's down to Williams....because if it were why weren't we so disastrous from the seasons start. The problem is this current situation cannot continue otherwise we might see ourselves dragged into the relegation battle.

There are people who would have you believe that "The Swansea Way" originated in 2007 because as we all know, Roberto Martinez invented passing football. We did gain a national reputation for playing football in a certain way during that period, but anyone who has been around long enough knows that as a club we've never tolerated long ball football for any great length of time. We've had the odd "direct" manager in our time, but they're never popular and don't last long. The kind of play favoured by the likes of Martin and Williams resembles the football we played back then about as much as Les Dawson resembles Cameron Diaz. It's a sick joke that so many people bought into the idea that it wasn't and still make excuses for Russy (and to a lesser extent Williams) to this day.

Possession with pace and a purpose rather than slow possession and laboured passing.

I think at the time we appointed him only the two teams in the L2 relegation zone had conceded more goals.

The WBA debacle was 5 games ago. We had 1 less point then than we do now. I can’t seriously believe anyone hasn’t noticed a dramatic decline since then.
Norwich City v Swansea City : Mach day thread on 22:22 - Jan 25 with 715 views | majorraglan | A few weeks ago several posters commented that the club could get pulled in to a relegation battle, to be honest I didn’t think that would be the case, but 1 win in 6 v Luton who are in the drop zone and 4 points from 18 and it’s now looking very uncomfortable. The Swans form is the third worst in the league and the next 2 games sees them playing inform teams. Not good.
