Rams Send AWOL Strike Target Packing! Friday, 3rd Dec 2010 20:27 by Arild Brenna Sand RamZone reported earlier that Derby were interested in striker Geir Andrè Herrem. Now Norwegian media is reporting that the player was training with Derby without permission and consequently he was sent home. The peculiar story is that Herrem came to Derby on November 15th to train with them and stayed there for just two days. His contract with his current club, Bryne, expires at the end of this year. Communications & Media Manager at DCFC, Matt McCann, explains: "It turned out the player in question neither had the papers in order, nor did he have permission to be at the club. When we found that out, we sent him home. Now he's of no interest to us anymore." It turns out Bryne had sent Herrem two written warnings but the player chose to ignore those warnings and go to Derby anyway. McCann says both clubs have done everything correctly and that this is entirely the player's fault. It remains to be seen where Herrem will play next year but it seems certain it won't be at Derby!
