New Manager same problems? 10:38 - Oct 27 with 2852 viewsRabbram10

Looks like big Mac going to have the same problem that Clough couldn't fix, we can't close games out when were winning?
Another two points thrown away yesterday cause we can't defend cross balls, hopefully the guy from Leicester will be fit soon Buxton & Keogh dosent work!

Well, so far Steve Mac & Co have rescued the impossible against Ipswich, got the first home win and then beaten one of the promo favourites on their own turf.

Eight points in three & a half games is OK, but I also agree that there was some "reversion to type" in yesterday's performance against Birmingham.

Maybe you'll give them a chance to address the known weaknesses in the team - tactically & personnel-wise - before you post up against any more disappointing results. Mac & Simmo have already identified what we're good & bad at; consistency is the key - but very few Championship teams have that.

Our loan centre-half got injured - so we got another very good young (Prem) defender in straight away. He was superb yesterday, and Blues had worked well on their tactics to stifle our fast midfield interplay, so evident against Leeds & Watford.

The QPR game will be a good index of the "Mac Factor" so far, as he was coaching them until his Derby appointment and should be able to plan our tactics accordingly. Do you expect three points for Derby there? After all, Yeovil just beat them!

Although it never really works a cleanly, if you extrapolate our current point total by points per game over the 46 game season, we get a slight (Clough-style) increase. Y-O-Y.

My own expectation is for Derby to be there or thereabouts at the right end of the table come May, but Mac has already said there won't be a revolution (unless it comes from the Clough-ites or those expecting instant promotion).
