There needs to be a complete review of the whole academy and age group structure within the club. Whether this is a priority for the new owners I don't know, but it should be. I know we did away with Cat one, but the demise over the last 6 or 7 years is incredible. We are not showing progression through the club to the first team. Players look decent playing in their own environment but are not cutting it whether with us or out on loan to a lower league club. To be honest this really is not acceptable. I wonder if one or two missing from last night will be in the squad tonight just to prove me wrong. [Post edited 10 Dec 13:40]

24-25 yo. Cabango. Cullen Ollie Cooper First team 21-22 Congreve, Josh Thomas, Cotterill On loan two doing oK 19-21. Abdullai first team 19-21. Kyrrel Wilson Mitchell Bates ? fringes of first team 17-19. Govea, Sam Parker made debut and performed well under long contracts 17-18 Nzingo Woodward Henau, Watts, Bates, jnr Art Parker, two other guys linked with Arsenal and Man City. If Swansea can keep hold of their players and not get rinsed by the big guns they will do OK [Post edited 10 Dec 15:34]

The first three are from Cat one time or just after and prove my point. Cotterell after starting well is now coming on off the bench most games, Congreve is hit and miss the games I've seen he hasn't stood out (thank you Sky SportsX). Thomas is having no game time and we are talking league two here. Compared to Cooper who stood out at Newport according to my Newport friends there is no comparison. Abdulai is not playing well for us end of. All the others show potential but not enough. You should stop watching highlights. Since the Cat one times we have not brought players through. Edit I have just been told that we are having an audit at the end of the season, with the aim of achieving Full Categorie One status. [Post edited 10 Dec 16:08]

Abdullai is a great prospect being played out of position. I have seen him 10 times or so and he was a standout evey time. It would be criminal if Williams fails to develop him. Sam Parker looks a tremendous prospect and happily like Govea he has signed a long deal. Cat one costs a reported £5m a year and few Championship team s can afford this. Where is the money coming from? Cat 1 means big team cannot poach your players so easily but Swansea seem to be tying up their kids reasonably well. Iwan Morgan was one of he few that have left. I forgot about Lissah would was primed to join the first team but is injured.

"Cat one costs a reported £5m a year and few Championship team s can afford this. Where is the money coming from?" Well we are going for it. Where is the money coming from, the new owners must think it is worthwhile, probably the transfer budget if we develop a couple of players. I would say the owners have a development plan for the club unlike the last lot. As they say time will tell.

I would imagine Tyler Morse interest per day on his income will cover it for the year 😉

I am surprised he did not take on the Newport job. I recall reports that he was in the frame. The current manager was employed as a coach and then promoted to manager. Two huge lads up top and not much sign of Swansea way so far according to fans.
