I do not believe this at all. Drug and alcohol do not help the homeless. I agree in comfortable accomodations for people to get back on their feet. Those who chose not to or so non coherent due to drugs should be given minimalist shelter warmth and food to limit the cost to the taxpayers.

That just further highlights your ignorance. Drink and drugs can be the force that makes people homeless but it is also something that homeless people turn to for comfort when they are forced to live on the streets, specially in the middle of winter. They turn to those substances to numb themselves against the cold and having to sleep on makeshift beds on concrtet witj some sleeping on little more than a few sheets of cardboard. If, through the course of your daily job you had seen some of the things I have seen then maybe you would have some more sympathy for homeless people. And by the way, homeless people also end up being a massive burden on us all because they are responsible for a lot of the low level crime like shop lifting which helps to force prices up. So whichever way you cut it tbey cost us money so why isn't it better to spend that money trying to help them sort their lives out. Seeing people inject themselves and then crash out in the stairwells of multi storey car parks, having to clean up after they have used them for toilets and/or vomitted up the stairs, seeing families have to traverse these places while people lay around stoned or take a leak with the urine running down around their kids feet...you really are clueless. It's a problem that needs solving, they need helping and not casting aside.

Nobody has stated drugs and drink help them, it's just what happens. Drugs and drink are not good for anyone. In an ideal society we would all be clean living, not overweigh and super fit, but we aren't.

Totally Wrong again People turn to drugs and drink first. Once they are addicted and can no longer afford to eat or pay their rent they either lose their accommodation or resort to crime to find their addiction. They then end up on the street or in prison.

Senedd Costs on 17:32 - Nov 19 by ReslovenSwan1 | The "Cardiff Metro" extends all over South East Wales and up the valleys. The name " West Wales" is a BBC invention and inaccurate if it means South West Wales. Bangor is in West Wales. I hate this sloppiness. It is sadly engrained. I believe this "West Wales" was used to help non Welsh speaker use Dyfed which has a non English letter the Welsh F which is pronounced V |
Bangor has never been in West Wales. it is on the North Wales Coast. Could be classed as North West Wales. Not Sure why you think the BBC invented West Wales A quick look at a BBC Web news web site will show it does not use the term West Wales The region of Wales it uses are North East North West Mid South East South West Seems to be another one of your rants based on your bias. As I said the Swansea City Deal includes Swanses, Carmathenshire and Pembrokeshire and cost less than the Cardiff Metro deisgned to give easy access to Cardiff.

I made the statement that BBC Wales started called the area " " West Wales" during the period Dyfed existed. It was some time back and based on my anecdotal recollections. They still refer to West Wales meaning South West Wales today because they are sloppy. They do not even follow their own guidelines. Do you live in Felixstowe? [Post edited 21 Nov 11:35]

I agree. These struggling people need to be given cheap basic provisions in secure areas such as food warmth and medical provisions preferably out of the way of general citizens going about their work. This is happening in Cardiff where collections of the displaced have been causing trouble. The police have issued some sort of notice on certain areas and "soup kitchen" provisions nearby our of sight. Local shops and a cafes are much happier..

It is being dealt with. The people living on the street are provided with cheap basic facilities in confined controlled areas. It is a carrot and stick approach. Police notices allowing arrest in commercial areas and provision provided in our odf sight areas with toilets etc. One problem of homeless is a people entering cafes to use the toilets if you are lucky.. The country has gone soft in the head..People with no self discipline do not need a two bedroom flat to turn into a slum which is bad news for the neighbours .

It's not dealing with the problem. It's giving them another option. An option that they almost certianly can't use. It's a bit more complicated than them having no self discipline. I've got no self discipline when my wife opens a pack of hobnobs.

That doesn't work though. Most don't want to stay in hostels etc where there are strict rules and restrictions, many are homeless because they got away from that. They are adults not kids, they don't want to live in boarding schools Take a look at how Finland has dealt with this problem while we haven't

Nope, you have shown your lack of understanding once again. They turn to substances once they are on the street, to dull or forget about their situation. Many are homeless because of divorce or losing their jobs or abuse not because of addiction. Almost every addict is dependent not because of the substance but their environment. There is no such thing as an addictive substance. Millions drink alcohol without getting addicted. We would all be addicts if that was the case. The vast majority of heroin users for example simply stop after a while - those that don't overdose or die of course. During the Vietnam war , there were so many drug users in the US military, it was feared that after demob the streets would be flooded with druggies. It simply didn't happen as when they were away from the fear and stresses of war, they simply stopped using . This goes to prove that it wasn't the substances, but the environment they were in at the time. I don't expect you to understand this, but it is widely accepted by the experts

Still promoting rubbish. Their are more drug addcts in the UK living in their own homes. The relatively few drug addicts living on the street are due to getting in arrears with their rent or mortgage.
