The last ever Beatles song on 14:34 - Nov 2 by stowmarketrange
Looking at the get back dvds it’s plain to see that McCartney was the only one interested in doing much in the last phase of the Beatles as a band.It looked like Ringo didn’t want to lose his meal ticket, but John and George certainly didn’t look interested enough to keep them all together. I think Lennon wrote a song about Paul mentioning about how do you sleep at night,so I don’t think there was much friendship left once they’d split up.
I wish I’d been a couple of years older so that I could’ve appreciated them more when they were together rather than after they’d gone their separate ways.I also wish I hadn’t copied Pete Townsend and smashed my toy Beatles guitar as a stroppy 6 year old kid.
Here’s Lennon’s song about Paul..

My Grandad used to work for Mary Quant in the 60's so the Beatles would often come in and he'd have a chat with them, one day he asked for Paul McCartneys autograph for his sons which he obliged. John Lennon said "Jim, do you want us all to sign it", No No said Grandad they only want Paul's. A decision he regretted and we never let him forget how stupid he was to turn down an autograph from all 4 Beatles. Years later he used to grumble non stop abut how much it would have been worth now if he'd got them all to sign it

Agree. First time I heard it I thought ''meh", but having heard it a few times I like it.
I think if u watch it with the video it is even more emotional. My 75 year old mum was nearly in tears watching it.
It's a fitting way for The Beatles to end.
Yeah, I agree too. Thought it was pretty boring to begin with, but it clicked when I saw the video, particularly the part at the end where they get progressively younger.
I am a big Beatles fan and after a few listens I think it's a great song for them to finish on. The video is very moving too.
Fully appreciate all the modern technology that went into its production but The Beatles loved all that I mean Sgt Peppers was revolutionary in its day.
It really is the full stop on what will be looked back on a s a magical era the likes of which we will probably never see again.

Quite a funny story on the radio this morning. Apparently the new song has resurrected a lot of interest in the band with thousands making the pilgrimage to Abbey Road in the last week or so. Unfortunately many have been going to the wrong Abbey Road on the DLR near stratford and instead of finding a zebra crossing they find a massive warehouse, an old council estate and this sign!

This I thought was quite clever. This guy has interpreted it in the style they had in 63/64. The actual song starts at 1:10, there's a bit of an Ed Sullivan show pre-amble at first.
The chord progressions I think have echoes of 'I'll Be Back'
New remixed versions of the red and blue albums out today. They played ‘love me do’ on the radio last night, every instrument and vocal sounds so clear.

I kept wanting to sing 'she loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah". Very clever. Interesting in that it shows that even the best band ever followed a winning formula.

There's Abbey Road in the Park Royal industrial estate too, always gives me a wry smile passing it on the way to LR in the car.
