No idea. And will in all likelihood make millions for someone / something. But on a purely musical level for me it would have been better if it was just vocal/piano/maybe bit of guitar without everything else. It's very eerie hearing JL's voice after everything that happened, apparently left in a box labelled 'for Paul'. On a purely personal level, it's very moving.

""Standing on the corner, just me and Yoko Ono We was waiting for Jerry to land Up come a man with a guitar in his hand Singing "have a marijuana if you can" His name was David Peel, we found that he was real He sang "The Pope Smokes Dope Everyday" Up come a police man shoved us up the street Singin, "Power to the People today!""
Que pasa New York?...Que pasa New York?

Well, When I Met You At The Station You Were Standing With A Bootleg In Your Hand. I Took You Back To My Little Place For A Taste Of A Multicoloured Band. We're Gonna Get Hi Hi Hi, The Night Is Young. She'll Be My Funky Little Mama, Gonna Rock It And We've Only Just Begun.
We're Gonna Get Hi Hi Hi With The Music On. Won't Say Bye-Bye Bye-Bye Bye-Bye Bye-Bye 'Til The Night Is Gone. I'm Gonna Do It To You, Gonna Do It, Sweet Banana, You'll Never Give Up. We're Gettin' Hi Hi Hi In The Midday Sun.
Well Well, Take Off Your Face, Recover From The Trip You've Been On. I Want To Lie On The Bed, Get You Ready For My Polygon. I'm Gonna Do It To You, Gonna Do It, Sweet Banana, You've Never Been Done. Yes, I Go Like A Rabbit, Gonna Grab It, Gonna Do It 'Til The Night Is Done.
Just watching Get Back on Disney + and the band had clearly had enough, I think they were exhausted by it all. Paul looks like the driving force as he had taken on the management after Epstein died, so he probably felt some responsibility to them all. George seemed to have a big inferiority complex as he compared himself to Clapton. And Ringo just kind of sat there doing very little, yet he comes across as the most approachable.
When they are just jamming it is magical to watch.
Among a few astonishing things to me about that documentary is how close that album came to not being made and what a tragedy that would have been.

I'm sure the lyrics are:
'Get ready for my body gun'
i.e nob, which was another reason the Beeb banned it in addition to the drug references.

I hope he had someone else doing the singing, as he hasn't been able to sing properly for 25 years.
Obvs his voice isn't what it was but he did fine, has a great band and the 50,000 there loved it. Played 39 songs, various instruments and kept his energy all the way through, seriously impressive at his age.

I didn't realise The Beatles had done 1500 gigs before they broke out with Love me Do They did 5 gigs a day. No wonder they'd had enough of each other by 1969!

Nobody kept them in check the way Epstein did,and I suppose Paul had to become more of the leader if they were to carry on together. It seems that a lot of their better songs in the late 60’s had Paul singing the lead vocals.
I too thought that Paul did most of the lead vocals but on more careful listening John took the lead on some quieter songs. If you’ve got a guitar get the Beatles song book sing along yourself then check them against the record. Changed my opinion on quite a few songs.
Strong and stable my arse.

Unless you're of a certain age it's hard to explain how huge the Beatles were. Even though there were other truly brilliant bands at the time, no one came close to them. It felt as if the whole world was listening to the Beatles and indeed, the whole world was.
Today's music scene is completely different; in some ways better, in some ways worse. But I don't think we'll ever see another band so preeminent and so loved.

Three times I've been to The Dakota building to pay my respect, some might say bit daft really but they're you go.
I was a huge fan of JL.
When I went to NewYork I made sure we went to Central Park and the strawberry fields memorial, also went and stood outside his apartment block where he was shot.

Will you be availing of the forthcoming Mal Evans biography by Kenneth Womack?
I just treated myself to pre-order on Amazon
Glad you have ordered a copy.
Both Gary, Mal’s son and Ken are close friends of mine and me and a friend helped get the book going. We’re credited in the opening pages under Simon and Mark (I hope, haven’t got a copy from the publishers yet) but I have seen it go through the last 3 years and it’s a remarkable book and achievement by the family and Ken.
