Just going to drop this here and step back. A couple of interesting (surprising?) picks in there.

Shit but local

I don’t think you’ll get any two fans to agree on the same ten.

Clint hill over Ian gillard/ Dave clement though?
Some recency bias here,
Mike keen, George Goddard tony Ingham??

I wouldn’t have had Gallen in there.

I certainly wouldn't have had Hill (Bardsley for me ) in their but the rest seem fine

I suppose it depends what criteria you use for your vote as I would only vote for players I've seen which would rule out everyone pre 1990

I think it’s fair enough that Gallen is in there.
Him & Macca are the only players to have made 400+ appearances since the days of Parkers / Clement / Gillard etc.
And he’s the 4th highest goal scorer in the history of the club, only George Goddard Brian Bedford & Rodney Marsh scored more.

Don’t see much wrong at all with that list actually.

Nothing against Clint Hill but there are many others who deserve a place there ahead of him. But as has been said above recency bias always comes into play in these things.
I would’ve had Clement or Gillard instead of him but apart from that it’s a good list.

That's got to be the first list of R's legends I've seen that doesn't have Stanley in it. Or is No 11 cut off on my phone?

Was Stan excluded as he has his own stand?

Edit - yes, just seen the attached article.

Don Givens or Clive Allen instead of Clint Hill.

I was surprised to see Hill on there, but maybe that's reflective of younger fans voting. Seems a lack of 80s players, no Allen, Waddock, Fenwick etc.

What I would like to see is the pitches at Heston named after successful academy graduates. I know we have the wall of graduates but naming the pitches to highlight some of our history and success stories would also be a nice touch.

When you look at all the players that have missed out, it does make you realise how lucky we've been over the years.

For the debate of Hill,

Was an outstanding leader for us, and for the younger fans, helped take us to the promise land and was with us quite a few years.

It would be difficult for a lets say 18 year old to vote for a Gerry Francis over Clint Hill, who he might have seen and adored as we did our players when we were young.

I agree. Important also to have a player from each generation.
I wouldn't have Hill or Taarabt in my ten if it was just ability and service to the club, but it has to be more than that.

This is all down to personal preference & subjectiveness, but two of my three favourite Rangers players don't make it! Note that I said favourite & not best!

From the Warnock side, I would have expected Ale Faurlin (number one on my list) to have received more votes than Clint Hill. This is certainly not meant as being disrepectful to Clint.

I'm less surprised that Gary Waddock is missing (my number three), but I will never forget him nutmegging an opponent in our penalty area, standing with the ball & raising his arm in salute!

In ten years time, a lot of those on the list would be missing due to their supporters growing older.

Was going to say the same.
Very difficult for new players to make 'canon' in the eyes of older fans, which always seems a shame to me.
While I might have a different name or two on there, all of those are fine players who I love dearly.

Bare bones.

There's obviously some recency bias, and some huge names not there who should be. You're never going to get people to agree, and get it down to a ten.

Just sticking up for Hill slightly though. QPR have been around since 1882/86 (not now Finney) and have won, I think, eight promotions across those 140-odd years? Clint Hill was a key player in two of those eight.

I would say Taarabt is the dictionary definition of a ‘legend’. Also probably the best and most well known player associated with us in resent times. He captained the side and basically won us the league. Can’t deny his impact on the pitch.

If we can name a stand after Stan Bowles (what trophies did he win with us?) who was most definitely a dubious character, I wouldn’t begrudge Taarabt being named a ‘legend of the loft’.

Different side of the pitch ?
More Clive Willson or Clint Hill IMO

Gallen is a bit further down on the top goalscorers list, he's 7th, which is still pretty good. He made 339 appearances for us

All 10 were very good players for us, can make an argument for 100 other players to be in there, can never please everyone. It was a fans vote and I don't know about anyone else but I went with 5 players I'd seen play rather than the older ones like Bedford, Francis, Clement, Goddard, Lazarus, Marsh etc who fully deserve to be in there

Agree about Taraabt, but he didn’t win us the league, despite 19 goals and 23 assists. Yes he won Championship PotY, but not Ours (Paddy Kenny).
Adel was a Major reason, but, he couldn’t have done it without Derry, Hill, Kenny and Others.
But neither could they (or the other 10) do it without him.

Guessing this will dredge up the old Pros & Cons about Adel.
Personally, he made my season tickets worth every penny long before we looked like a Championship winning team.

Got no problem with those 10. All about opinions and votes .

All legends in different ways . My era was the 80’s growing up so Bannister, Allen, Byrne, Hazell, Waddock etc. loved them all .

Faurlin would be in for me but understand why he wouldn’t be .

Those players feel us all with so much pride …what we’d give for 1 or 2 of them now

How many of that ten actually won a trophy mate?

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

That team would not have got promoted without Adel, he was outstanding and his time in the prem is criminally under rated
