Bearing in mind we probably won’t have any defenders once the board stop pissing around out current ones and issue the released list we could have love, Williams, Harrison mc and borthwick Jackson as a back 4. All 25 and under and ex United. Probably all same youth team and can’t all be toys beyond fixing!

The problem is DB, the man think he is running a big business, rather then a football club. I have no doubt that he thinks that any body will do if they are cheap and it will have no impact on team performances. I dread the players that DB and his puppet BBM has lined up for next season, they are likely to non-league grade players.

I would not be surprised if the list is known, but to keep the uproar to a minimum, when the best players are sold or freed, they will keep it to themselves for a long as possible, but we all know that DB strengths include his communication skills.

There are some really good players on the list above already. I doubt we will see any of them.

We'll do the usual wait till the end and gamble on there being some broken toys or injury riddled former decent players left....

Lots of decent players on there, with the ones that jump out to me being Tommy Rowe & Nicky Maynard. No idea or confidence in how the summer squad shaping will go though 😕

Struggle to see where the club made many mistakes with recruitment last season. Bola probably being the low point.
As for non league players. Beesley and Newby exceeded most people’s expectations last season and Lynch has also begrudgingly got some praise. So I would welcome a further trio of non league recruits if they can have the same impact.
Not sure DB can be criticised over providing BBM the support needed in this department. Didn’t BBM get the players he want with the exception of a left back?

Agree with that re. recruitment, but you could also arguably add Bazunu as well.

It was interesting watching Quest last weekend when they were talking about Cheltenham's loan goalkeeper from WBA, a 19-year-old called Josh Griffiths.

He was embarrassed when Newport's keeper scored past him with a long kick earlier in the season, but bounced back from that to play all-but-two league games as Cheltenham won the league title, earning very positive reviews in the process.

It just shows that it's often the luck of the draw with loanees. After our experience with Sanchez, we were all very positive about Bazunu, but it didn't really work out. We even dropped him after he'd become a full international!

Before joining us and Cheltenham on loan. Be interesting to know how far Bazunu and Griffiths were consider from a place in their respective club first team squads.

Where have I mentioned that? You're completely missing the point.

We both signed loan goalkeepers from the Premier League who had no previous league experience and who were both teenagers. Cheltenham's worked out as hoped, ours didn't.

I'm not sure why you've tried to take it in a different direction.

Interesting thought if my maths are any good(sometimes questionable) is that Lynch I think made 17 appearances and in those games we collected 26 points.
That would suggest that the signing of Bazunu would not be deemed a great one.Hopefully the young man goes on to have a great career in football and the experience he got at Dale helps him along the way

Yep, 17 league apps for Lynch and 29 for Bazunu.
