Online beer ordering/subscription 19:24 - Mar 31 with 6461 views | thame_hoops | Does anyone use any of those companies that you subscribe to for monthly beer packages sent to your door?. I use brewdog as I bought shares and get discount but was looking to find something different. Beer52 popped up with an offer for first order, anyone use these and can recommend any?
Online beer ordering/subscription on 19:38 - Mar 31 with 5049 views | stowmarketrange | I got a voucher for a free case from beer52 a month or two ago.I plumped for the mixture of light and dark beers. Two of them were coffee and chocolate, one was called old engine oil,and tasted like it too.Another one was out of date, and the rest were just about drinkable. My advice is too stay well clear of it.

Personally I wouldn't bother with any of those Beer52 type mail order things. Quite an expensive way to buy beer and they're so keen on getting diverse beers from all over the globe that quite a few of them just don't taste that great. Plus you just get the 12 beers they've chosen. A much better option would be to contact your local independent brewery and just order a crate of beers from them. That way you get to choose which types of beer you're getting, it's better for the environment and you're supporting local businesses at a time when they're really struggling. There's a really good map on this website showing 100s of brewers around the UK. http://www.indiecraftbrewers.co.uk/ And some of the larger brewers on this website. https://www.familybrewers.co.uk/meet-the-brewers

Thanks, I did the month free trial, 8 beers/snack and magazine and you only pay just £5.95 postage. Then it’s £24 per month for just 8 beers (330ml), very expensive expensive . I’ll see what chiltern brewery/rebellion are offering

That's a cool name ! I took a look, think I will stick to rebellion in Marlow, these internet companies seem very expensive, similar beers available and cheaper at Waitrose | | | | Login to get fewer ads

You can get a 12% trappist on beerwulf for the same you'd pay for a pint of 'old Tom' in Sainsbury's. All their 'Brand' Beers are excellent. I think Brand weirdly are owned by heiniken. Worth having a gander anyway.

Online beer ordering/subscription on 13:12 - Oct 28 with 3879 views | Woog | I used a few different ones until I found Beerhunter. Now I only use them. They specialise in German and Belgian beers (I like German beer, Helles type (e.g. Lowenbrau, Augustiner) and Dunkel beers). Beerhunter are cheaper than Amazon, etc; always have offers on (including free delivery promos); and the beer has always arrived quickly and been well in date.
Online beer ordering/subscription on 13:13 - Oct 28 with 3875 views | RBlock | In defence of Beer52, I've quite enjoyed it since taking a subscription out around March. Admittedly it is a very expensive way to drink beer at home, but you do get beers you'd never usually find elsewhere. You are definitely paying for that premium. When the pubs were shut and all drinking was done at home, it was always far more interesting to try the array of beers they sent, rather than whatever craft the local co-op/tesco had in stock. That being said, the lack of customisation has me very close to cancelling my subscription. I can't stand wheat beers/sours/saisons or the like, and I have a good case or two of just sitting around that I never intend to drink. If anyone likes an interesting wheatbeer and doesn't mind picking them up from Hounslow, be my guest. I'm struggling to justify continuing to pay this amount, when I only drink a third of the beers that come.

Likewise I found Beer52 quite poor and ending the subscription is very difficult. I have discovered a local Belgian brewer in my town, Bishops Stortford, well worth a look. The beers are fabulous. www.thebelgianbrewer.co.uk It's a warehouse with drink in/outside tables and the staff really know their stuff. Going there this Friday. Food available too....win win [Post edited 28 Oct 2020 13:26]

What yer man said, much better to go direct imo. I'd recommend: Wild Card (Walthamstow) Boundary (Belfast) Cloudwater (they're expensive but it's worth it, Manchester but have cold storage to some London postcodes) Northern Monk (Leeds) Verdant (Cornwall) Pressure Drop (Tottenham) Gypsy Hill (Peckham) Five Points (Hackney)

Add Deya (Cheltenham), Arbor (Bristol), Burnt Mill (Suffolk) and Kernel (London) to that list and it's spot on.
Online beer ordering/subscription on 14:54 - Oct 28 with 3748 views | noauthority | Once you find some you like ordering direct from the brewery is an option; usually cheaper than third party, depends on the brewery.
Online beer ordering/subscription on 15:01 - Oct 28 with 3737 views | queensparker | Another one recommending giving Beer52 a swerve - in every box you get a few that are properly undrinkable and I'll drink anything. One "coconut" number in particular was absolutely minging and went straight down the sink. In fact this has reminded me to cancel it, wish me luck...
Online beer ordering/subscription on 15:18 - Oct 28 with 3716 views | Konk | I haven't done any of the beer subscriptions, but what I have done, is invest in a growler! The Bristol Beer Factory Tap room is a 5 minute walk away, and after spending £20 on the growler, I now get 3.3 pints of any of their beers to takeaway for £8, so £2.42 a pint. Bargain. Some of them sell for £5.50 upwards in the more expensive places in town. Good times. Lovely fresh beer, no recycling, and usually about ten of their beers to choose from. The tap room's a five minute walk from Ashton Gate, and well worth a visit next time Rangers are playing down there. Some good breweries down here and most have Tap rooms/pubs/bars: Arbor, Wiper & True, Left Handed Giant, Good Chemistry, Moor Beer, Wild Beer, Bristol Beer Factory, New Bristol Brewery, Dawkins, Lost & Grounded... this is making me want to go to a pub.

Online beer ordering/subscription on 16:15 - Oct 28 with 3645 views | 1MoreBrightonR | Agree with a lot of the other comments...did it for about 3 months because they kept giving me a discount every time i went to cancel, but you would guarantee each month have at least two beers you would never choose yourself or want. They would try and tell me when i wanted to cancel that they were exclusive beers often only they had, but you have to be a real beer geek to care about that. Flavourly and honest brew are dong quite good deals without a subscription now, and with lock down and a lack of demand from pubs, the price of ordering beers from the breweries seems to have nosedived too...i think beer52 will struggle in future to be honest. i remember when a case of brewdog was £2 a can and its nearly half that now.
