Tactical voting in Gower 12:43 - May 16 with 20629 views | acejack3065 | The Greens have officially pulled out in Gower and have backed Labour. Interesting stuff. The progressive alliance lives... sort of. Anyone else tactically voting in Gower, given that it's the most marginal seat in the country?
Tactical voting in Gower on 12:57 - May 16 with 7471 views | swanjackal | Just reading on the parties the other day, and truthfully never heard of the Pirate Party (the name indicated something a lot more fun than it is). Having read their basic outline (more the welsh branch variant) I can firmly strike them off the list. It looks on current listing, unless something jumps off the page from their campaign promises, I can't see myself voting again.

Well it's labour or Tory in Gower unfortunately. You can either have a school teacher as your MP or a millionaire ex met inspector with his own private plane. I know who represents me best.

Having worked in the world of education for 13 years, and knowing a lot of teachers, that hardly sways me from my convictions :p. So it's still neither for me, unless like I said, their campaign materials can sway me.

Tactical voting in Gower on 15:35 - May 16 with 7319 views | DafyddHuw | Wot, no Greens in Gower? That's me fecked then. And I can't bring myself to vote for a party that thinks it's OK to spend £50billion (that's £50,000M) on renewing Trident for the remote possibility that we can nuke some country off the face of the planet. And thinks putting Diane Abbott forward as a spokesperson is a good idea.

It's a difficult one for me. Either vote with who you feel would represent you best, which is what I've always done, but know your vote is wasted. Or vote tactical as it is only a two horse race. Principles versus pragmatism.... Although I suspect it's a one horse race if the council elections are anything to go by - the UKIPpers will run back to Tory mostly, giving them a likely big lead. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I won't vote just for the sake of voting, or vote tactically. Nothing I have voted on has ever come through anyway, be it elections, devolution, EU vote etc. I'd only jinx the team :P

People from other parties with an IQ greater than that of a dead slug know what Corbyn and his cronies will bring. When the Shadow Chancellor doesn't know how much the deficit is and has to guess using an incorrect guess from Google...

I took a drive down to Port Eynon on Sunday afternoon, Ace, and it was noticeable that the only political placards on display on the peninsula proper were Conservatives ones. I don't know how much you can read into that, or if you can read anything at all, but it did catch my eye.

Gower's a huge constituency in area. I wouldn't read too much into that. Although I do expect the Tories to win the seat fairly comfortably this time.

Peninsula Gower has always been Blue. The turnaround in voting in traditional Labour strongholds such as Gorseinon & Penllergaer has caused the change.

I'm a Labour member in Gorseinion and I always have a board. I haven't had mine yet because the constituency party said they are still waiting to have them back from the printers. The snap general election seems to have caught a few people off guard Port Eynon and the peninsula are all Tory anyway. Can't imagine many Labour Boards going up out there.

Not with that attitude. Although all things considered I'd expect Byron Davies to get back in with about a 1500/2000 majority. Shame really, as is really is an odious c**t.

There are two problems with the Labour Party Corbyn and Abbott. As an ex serviceman myself anyone from Labour knocks my door they will be told in no uncertain terms to remove themselves from my property. There again only Byron Davies bothered coming around in the build up to the last election. I did ask a member of the Labour Party why they didn't bother only to be told that the area always votes Labour so there was no need. That bit them on the arse didn't it.
